Spanner light - Tyre Size

Thought I'd start another thread on this with a more appropriate heading. I've been having a few issues as described in https://www.saeb.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5897 the tank size is sorted, but the tyre size issue is doing my head in with DTCs and a persistent spanner light.

OK, yet again another spanner light today. Same codes in Forscan PCM P1635 Tyre/axle out of range but also an extra one ABS U0401 Invalid data received.

I checked the PCM and the circumference is set to 2423… tick
Checked BCM circumference and still at 2423… tick
Checked BCM as-built and 726-12-01 hex code is xxxx-0977-xxxx… tick
Correct me if I’m wrong, but they should all be ‘safe’ and corresponding values.

Did a PCM relearn as well, just for good measure. All DTCs cleared fine. So if this doesn’t sort it out, I’ll try disconnecting the battery for a while. Don’t know what else to try? It’s bloody annoying as I’m towing and about to cross the Nullarbor towards WA and don't really need this right now.

I'll have to check and see Stewart. We're on the move again in the morning, if it throws another fault I'll definitely be checking DTCs again so I'll check and let you know.

So we went for a very short drive last night, not towing, to the pub up the road. No spanner light, but thought I'd check this morning anyway.

So to answer SAEBs question, PCM 7E0-01-01 is 0DDE-5EA6-00D8. But it threw a bunch of DTCs again, just in that short run, as follows:

PCM P1635:00-2F Tyre/axle out of acceptable range
PAM U0100:00-28 Lost communications with ECM/PCM A
ABS U0401:00-08 Invalid data received from ECM/PCM

I've reset them again and we're now off to Ceduna.

A HUGE shout out in appreciation to Stewart for sorting my issue. Just one little wrong setting is all it took.

So I can only blame phat fingers ME! Anyway, today's run was issue free, so feeling a lot more confident leaving Ceduna tomorrow to head across the Nullarbor.

Thanks Stewart, very much appreciated!

Hi all, I would love some help with this as well as it appears I have the same problem. I have a manual PX3 with 265/75/R16's. Due to the maximum size limit, I changes the value to BCM 726-12-01-0163-0984-81B2. Now I end up with the spanner error showing up once and a while. I can clear the fault codes, but it randomly comes back. GerryP, SAEB, what was the PCM fix that you did? My values are currently as following PCM 7E0-01-01-0000-5B68-00AC.

My fault codes are:
PCM P0825:00-28
APIM U0162:00-08
IPC U0438:81-0A

Thanks heaps.

Evert, mine was an incorrect value in the PCM which caused my issues. But seeing I somehow caused the problem myself, I'll let Stewart reply to your post... I think that would be much safer. Lol

I see no issue with your PCM.

I can only suggest moving BCM a little lower in this case. Try 0980 for now and see if the problem persists. If it does then put it back to default and try again. Your issue appears to be one that can be related but is not always tyre size.

Some people have had your DTC before on stock tyre size and it then turned into a dealer issue with no real outcome.

APIM U0162:00-08
IPC U0438:81-0A

are irrelevant to the issue.

Thanks mate. I’ll start playing around with that and let you know how I go.
