Trailer Lights to LED?

Can anyone tell me if I can change the incandescent bulb taillight assemblies on my caravan to LED assemblies without causing any dramas up front?
I have the 2016 XLS Dual Cab 3.2 fitted with a Hayman Reese towbar and Hayman Reese after market loom. Everything works fine as is, but I don't want to upset the apple cart just by upgrading the van lights!

Thanks, Brian

I have 2016 xlt with factory wiring.

I have a bike trailer and boat trailer with leds. Sometimes the boat trailer causes the indicators inside the car to flash fast, but the indicators on the car and trailer are flashing normal.

I just got a caravan that will get changed to LED eventually.

OK, thanks for that. I've read so much on Newranger.net as well, and I've never read so much confusion on what used to be a really simple subject

I fitted a set of LED tail lights to a Hino truck not long ago and it did not like it. Had brake and blinkers etc all on at once and other strange stuff like an earthing problem but it just needed resistors fitting.

If it were mine I would just wire it correctly and if it has any problems look at resistors.

Hayman Reese Wiring for their Tow Bars don't connect to the Ford ECU.

They take the signals from the tail lights through a patch lead and run it through their ECU (think of it as relays) which then pulls power directly from the Battery.
No dramas with LED trailers.

Aha! That's the answer I was looking for, thank you! Explains why there's no dramas :-) cheers
