Engine wont start.

Okay, I've got one for you.
Yesterday my 2017 PX2 Wildtrak refused to start, no fault codes, the starter motor simply couldnt or wouldnt turn the engine over, my first thought was the battery so I used my NOCO booster, still no luck so I checked the started battery charge and it was 12.5 volts.
So after dropping all the underbody protection plates I'm now in the process of removing and checking that the starter motor isnt jammed or if it has a dirty bendix.
I removed the inspection plate at the rear of the flywheel / flexplate and could turn the motor fairly easily with a screwdriver as a lever so the motor isnt hydrolocked, ( this can happen with a leaking defective injector ) - not the coolant as the level hasn't dropped in the header tank.
Okay -- any ideas while I'm playing mechanic ??
Okay, today, Wednesday. The starter motor is out - eventually and after much muttering, and on the test bench using a spare Lithium battery is span over and went up the bendix gear - so its been cleaned and will go back into the engine in the morning.
This looks like being as awkward and hard as it was to remove it, the engine bay is simply not designed with the service mechanic in mind, on an auto like mine for example removal of the ATF cooler is almost mandatory but I managed to get over this by disconnecting the coolant lines and removing the hoses to allow a space over the top of the oil filter.
The motor turns over quite easily by hand using a socket and 14' ratchet wrench.
Anyway, back to the coal face .......
