Ambient temperature

Hi, Greg's the name -new to forums generally and this one in particular.
Hoping someone can help with this (saeb maybe?):
I have a January 2017 build XLS ranger, that arrived without the ambient temperature displayed.
Ford tell me that my particular model did not have ambient temperature, even though I told them that the temperature can be changed from Farenheit to Celsius on the steering controls and that THE TEMPERATURE SENDER IS IN PLACE BEHIND THE GRILLE/BUMPER BAR.
What may complicate things is that I've gotten rid of Sync and put in a Clarion Tuner/ Sat Nav.
I'm pretty sure though, that all is required is to use Forscan and an OBD2 to bring up the A/T on the dash beside the North/South indicator seen through the steering wheel.
Has anybody done this and if what is the cost?
Thanks,
Greg

Read through the Forscan how to thread. Purchase your dongle, download Forscan and the option shod be there. I had it added in the last update and it should work on the XLS also. Any dramas, post in the appropriate area and we will be happy to help.

Hi Vlocty, you need the extended licence to be able to change things. Go to forscan and download the licence key you need (free). you may need to register if you haven't already. Here's the link... http://forscan.org/download.html then select "Link to Extended License key generator".

Cheers

All changes should take place straight away. You will probably need to switch the ignition off and back on again to make sure.

No, it looks like you have it enabled in your pic... did you click on 'write'? That's all you should need to do.

If it's available in your car it should work. Failing that I'd have to refer to Stewart to see if he has any other ideas?
