Ok, apologies for the confusion, I'll try to simplify. (disregard keeping the ANC on in the front speakers, this was a mistake / misunderstanding on my part)

What I am trying to do is:

- Disable the ANC completely
- Bring the factory outputs to a lower line level
- Flatten the factory EQ

However, I fear from my mucking around I have stuffed something up (hence asking elsewhere for help restoring the factory AsBuilt ACM)

FYI This is the HEX I had input to the ACM Module:
727-01-01 9E00-1808-9A8A
727-01-02 0045-76

The result of this HEX was:

- ANC has been completely disabled
- Factory outputs are at standard high output
- Flattening of the factory EQ has worked
- Reverse beeper sound has changed, think its coming through IPC module not speakers

I have tried both HEX changes you suggested with the following results:

The result of this HEX was:

- ANC has been completely disabled
- Factory outputs are at a lower level
- Flattening of the factory EQ has worked
- Reverse beeper sound is normal but both it and door chimes are very faint

The result of this HEX was:

- ANC has been completely disabled
- All volume controls disabled
- Factory outputs levels very high and distorted
- Unable to tell if eq is flat or not, too distorted
- Reverse beeper sound has changed, think its coming through IPC module not speakers

So in summary I am now using:

727-01-02 0000-xx

This has done everything I needed! BUT..

The reverse beeper sound did not change back to normal, it still sounded like it was coming through the IPC not the speakers. But then I left the car and came back to it half hour later and the ford chime noise is back and coming through the speakers! Though it's very faint in volume, same as the door chimes.

Any ideas why? Would this be something that’s been effected by changes in the ACM Module? I read elsewhere that this could be because the head unit is not detecting the resistance from the factory speakers?

I'm also finding that no matter what the output level of the head unit is set to I'm getting a weird clipping / static noise when I turn the volume up a bit (it's not distortion, it's more like a signal clipping or loose wires but nothing is loose.) see video bellow:

FYI I don’t know if this has any relevance but I had made the following changes successfully before modifying the ACM and the reverse beep was as per normal:
- disabled the engine auto start stop in the IPC + BdyCM module’s
- Disabled horn beep when leaving car with key in the BdyCM module
- Disabled all seat belt chimes in the IPC Module

Have not fitted an amp to a Ranger so have no idea whether chimes being low is normal, someone else might be able to anser this.

Clipping the same, I cannot offer any assistance.

I don't believe your last issues above have anything to do with asbuilt changes though. If you want chimes louder meanwhile then move them across to the cluster only. Change is in IPC non asbuilt.

The chimes are definitely lower in volume once you change to low level output.
I found the sound coming through the Cluster would come back when the main battery is low.
Since I changed my battery it has never played through the cluster again.

As for the clipping it’s hard to distinguish it via the sound coming through my phone.
If I remember correctly you’re using an lc2i.
Have you tuned the the gain in that to ensure it’s not clipping?
The correct way to do this is with no amp connected to the lc2.
If you have done that correctly connect the rca’s from the amp to the lc2 and check the gain on the amp is set to zero and adjust accordingly from there.
If you’re amp and speakers are matched correctly then you should be able to go full volume with no distortion.
If you get distortion at full volume back off the gain in the amp.

Not sure what an LC2i is, I think this was another users set up in this thread.

I have a Focal 5ch amp (FPX 5.1200 5-CH) being fed signal from the RCA's spliced into the factory stereo. I'm not using any low level line converters. Even with the gain would to minimums on the amp I still hear the crackling noise, to my ear it seems to only be present when certain frequency's are played, it's not just straight out distortion, and it doesn't seem to make a difference if the car is moving or not, and appears at the same time every time you play a song, making me think it's not a loose wire or connection....

Appreciate everyone’s help with this I’ve now spent hours trying to get this to work and starting to go a bit crazy!

After a morning with my car audio installer It turns out that no matter what the head unit output levels are set to with forscan the levels are still too high for my focal amp to input via RCA, hence the crackling, we have fixed this by using hi -lo converters. And leaving the head units output level as factory.

I still have a problem with the reverse chime only coming through the IPC and will make a new thread for this issue.

Hello guys,

I am trying to flatten the eq but I do not get as many fields/values as the above pictures. I also get an error that the checksum is invalid. What I am doing wrong?

I am only trying to alter this one:

727-01-02 0000-xx (Flattern factory EQ)

onobeka, ignore the checksum error. It's because you are changing the value, so it won't add up until after it accepts the new value.

Thank you, so in this case (if you check the picture) since I only have 4 digits for this setting, do I set it to 0000 or 00xx?

Later edit: I took the plunge and modified from 0738 to 0038 which the car corrected to 0031.

Now there is bass as there should have been. I have no subwoofer, but I have upgraded my fronts to a set of Phoenix Gold sx65cs and added a small vibe powerbox, yet after the install i found that lacked bass by a lot. Now it’s all good!

Does anyone know what the codes for the EQ are? 0 is flat, but 1-8?

Any listings for EQ are 0 to 12

See attached image, there is no further documentation or extended description in any documents.

Gday lads,
I stumbled across this page and being a bit of an audiophile i thought it was a great idea to flatten eq curve before my dsp.
So i performed this yesterday but have found once doing this that it cancels out my sub somehow with the headunit fader in center.
If set to either front or rear sub works normally but as soon as i start to fade to all speakers it fades out sub.
Not sure exactly how this is happening as i have front and rear hi levels going to audison bit ten dsp then rcas to amp.
Ive gone through fault finding and proven that its signal from headunit and has only happened since performing flattening of eq.

Any ideas???

It’s a bit strange that this only started after flattening the EQ.
However, it sounds like either the inputs or the outputs between front and rear are wired out of phase.
Try disconnecting either the front or rear inputs and see if the bass returns.
If it does then one set of inputs is wired in reverse to the other.
You then need to work out which one is correct.
Try it and post back your results.

Cheers,
Bob.

Yep already checked phasing, it even does it if ive only got fronts plugged in and move fader to center…

Ive got a audison dsp connected to it so tried inverting phase that way also but all correct.

Ive tried other eq settings on headunit and about 40% of them have the same effect!
Very weird!
I have now set to eq no. 3 and that seems fairly flat (to me it sounds flat on rear and a little boost on mids in front stage. But sub finally sounds like its not 18db down in the lower end as it was in factory eq. I think it was no. 6 but memory)
So in all i can live with eq no. 3 if i cant get no. 1 working, but ideally flat would be great so i know i have a natural source that i can then tweek via dsp
