I have often wondered if the valve body in a Territory would fit in a Ranger, the same trans is in both.
The gear changes are very smooth in the Territory where as the Ranger changes are terrible.
The BPT changes are a little better but still rough compared to the Territory.

Assuming 3.2 auto mine is smooth.

It had an episode where I was in a city and when taking off from lights it would free rev for a second then clunk into gear. It got looked at by the dealer, reprogrammed and come back fine. That was over 10k km ago.

Mine is smooth, same as several Rangers I have driven but compared to the Territory it is not a clean/smooth change.

Will come down to how it is tuned at the end of the day. Territory may not cut torque quite as much either on changes either.

My 3.2 auto is smooth up and down the gears. My wife's Mustang, with the 10-speed auto is even smoother.

Someone dumped a ton of different transmission calibrations for this transmission in my inbox. Pretty sure they are overseas models so will take a look one of these days and do some comparisons.

Hi folks. I have a slight vibe when moving off, 1st or 2nd gear but mostly 2nd I think. Have only just noticed it. Normal? Ford want $160 down payment and if not a warranty fault I lose it.
Cheers

That's a common fault.
Centre bearing mount angle has to be changed with spacers
I haven't done it but someone will be along

Depends how many km, being 2nd gear I would be more inclined to look at the unis or condition of the transmission mount. 1st gear then look at drive shaft angle.
