picked up new plates and recovery point from arb, QA department must of been on another company fishing trip.

a bit more training guys on the laser machine before making customer items.
the damage is right where the shackle goes on so a possible weak point down the track.

needless to say they got it back after they tried to say it would be fine, dont they relies we are not paying for the ARB sticker but also want some quality also!

Problems appear to come from the fact that items are made in Thailand and are packed in Thailand. The items are not checked in Australia and are only put on the shelves.

If anything the dealer is the last person in the chain and the dealers should be making a call on whether it is an acceptable item to install or send back. Most don’t.

Being you picked the items up directly says that the last person that looked at it was from another countr and at the end of the day you are paying the money and if you’re not happy with the item then good on you for speaking up.

Im a bit of a perfectionist in my jobs so I guess I expect companies Im paying money to be a bit the same.
I didnt think they were made in Aus like they keep saying about their products. They said the UBP and recoveries are made in Melbourne but then when I said can i have it black powder coated instead of grey they just said they cant.... they are black now though and 200% better looking. pics once they are mounted.

Ok, never seen them in black.

I'm glad I did get them when they were grey then as my vehicle is Aluminium in colour so the contrast is good. I don't notice the dirt much on the light coloured plates either.

Enjoy and glad you got it sorted.

Most if not all 4WD accessories are made in Thailand. On a recent trip into the Gibson Desert we had as company the development manager of Ironman, he was telling us over the campfire one evening that they have a huge 3D printer, capable of making/printing a Bull Bar. When a new model comes out, invariably available in Asia before Australia they buy one, comport it and strip it down measure it up and print out a 3D accessory, they ensure that the fit is good and once they are satisfied with the design and fit they produce CAD drawings and send them, and the plastic model to their manufacturers in Thailand who then go into production. Given the difference in wages Australia simply cannot compete, Thai workers dont get superannuation, sick leave, paid holidays or workers compensation and even then I'm not sure that the quality of locally made goods is in fact superior to imported items, but yes, if I can buy Australian I do if just to keep someone employed.
