Just to add to this, I just swapped my rims over and put new sensors in. I remember reading somewhere that the car will relearn the new sensors without the trigger and it did. When the fault came up I used the right menu to reset the Tyres, fault went away and torque showed pressure for each rim. They are not in the right spot so I'll use the tool to set the location.

Sounds very odd that the BCM would add sensors that did not belong to the vehicle.
How far did you drive as it will reset then come on approx every 10km.
I believe it stayed clear due to the distance you travelled and that they will still require training to add to the BCM.

Yep, it triggered twice, after the second reset it remembered them. Did another couple of trips before I use the training tool to set the Tyre location.

I have a MY19/mk3 but when my new tyres were fitted they were fitted with sensors from a mk2. Is there a way to get these to work or do i have to get the sensors changed out?

I do not believe they are compatible but try getting the tyre shop or Ford to program them in and see what happens or have you already tried?

Personal choice. If you do it will need to be programmed in when fitted to the vehicle. Basically you will retrain the the 4 current turning wheels that are on the vehicle.Chris Jones wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 11:53 am Hi all,

Yes, I have them on my Scangauge. Ultragauge or Most OBD apps will show them as long as you can program in the codes.

Hello, I'm just reading this and I have same model 2016 Ford Ranger. I have just fitted new wheels with new sensors and cant seem to re learn the sensors. I have also bought the white tool with green button. Does not recognize in learn mode. Just checking to see if it has been established whether the PX2 sensors are compatible with a PX3? Have just recently fit my old PX2 wheels/tyres onto my new PX3. Trying to work out if I need to buy a training tool or new sensors.

PX3 sensors are different (and incompatible) to PX2.

Hi guys,
I have a new 21.25 Ranger XLT and have just fitted some 2020 Everest 20” wheels and Tyres (as from factory seller says). Anyway, I can not for the life of me get them to program to the ranger. I can enter mode with car no problem and I have the right training tool, but for some reason, I can’t get the Everest wheels to train. Works fine with the factory 17’s (even a couple meters away, but not the Everest wheels. I’ve gone for a drive, parked 200m away from any other car (or my old wheels), tried rotating the programming tool around the valve stem, tried FLH and FRH wheels, nothing works. First time with the factory 17, bang, straight away. Anyone have any ideas please? Seller swears that the Tyres have never been off the Everest wheels, but I’m starting to wonder if he’s full of it and he took out the sensors and just lied. At this stage, I’m looking at having to take both sets or wheels to a Tyre shop and have them swap the sensors between sets and I’m seeing if there is anything I’m missing before I do? Thanks.

Either the Everest sensors aren't compatible with the the Ranger or the sensors are missing.
PX3 sensors won't work in a PX2 either

Thanks, I’ll look closer. I did notice on the weekend that when you moved the factory stems around, you could feel the sensor hitting the rim. On the new wheels, there was nothing to be felt.
Also, they “are” off a 2020 Titanium, so would have sensors and seller said he bought new ones to suit his new aftermarket wheels for $200, which is spot on the cost.
All good but, taking them to Tyre place tomorrow to start swapping them over. Time consuming, painful and expensive exercise. Lesson learned, be careful trusting people. By the time I’m done, these wheels will probably have cost double what I paid for them.

For anyone playing at home, the legend that sold me the wheels, who told me “the sensors are all their, Tyres have never been off”, was full of shit. Sensors had been removed. New sensors off factory wheels installed and programmed first time no probs.Thanks for input guys.
