Hi Stewart,
Are you able to give me directions to enable the trailer module please?
I can see the module with Forscan but don't know how to enable it, also I don't have the check box to enable/disable sway control in any of my on screen menus.
One other thing do you still have any of the dry pin kits available?

Thanks,
Tony.

So you have a genuine Ford trailer module installed?

I assume Ford installed it and added it as a new module with their equipment?

Is it just the sway menus you want?

Just trying to be clear on everything, does everything else work or some things not work?

The trailer module is a genuine ford module. I installed it and asked the dealer to add it to the system. With a trailer plugged in I get the reverse sensors telling me that I am about to reverse over some thing.
I don't know if the trailer having led lights is not drawing enough current to make the module detect the trailer is the cause of this.
All the trailer lighting was working before it went to the dealer, and are still working the same after I got it back.
Yes I would like the sway menus also.

Tony.

It's possible the PAM not know it has been installed. I will have a look at some info and get back to you.

Do you have any TRM dtc's? Are you able to view the TRM asbuilt through forscan?

Maybe save your PAM, FDCIM, BCM, IPC and TRM and PM them to me also include your VIN.

Tony.

Just browsing threads and came across this one.

My Everest Titanium has a TRM DTC that Ford says is a "Ghost Code" ie: there's nothing wrong but they can't get rid of it.
I don't recall off the top of my head what the code number is, but the description is "Initial Configuration Not Complete".

I have towed quite a bit and everything works as expected, just this darn code!
There's another "Ghost Code" in both the Driver & Passenger Door modules also, something to do with Switch Illumination.

My OCD would love to get this resolved....

I have the same thing for mine.

If both of you pm me your saved abt file from Forscan for the TRM module I will have a look. Sometimes that fault is caused by an invalid asbuilt.

When you look at the asbuilt for the TRM there is a save button down the bottom. I assume you have an extended licence and have looked at the asbuilt code?

Yes I have extended licence so I'll check this out when I get the chance.

Same deal with the door modules? Possible invalid asbuilt?

Rear door switch sounds like a blown globe although they are LED by memory which would seems weird. Check the small light in the rear window switches and see if they are working.

We can compare the asbuilt to another and see what comes up as looking at all the asbuilt options for the door modules brings nothing related to light.

I have the ab file for my VIN which I downloaded from Motorcraft yesterday.
Will that do?

Just PM me the VIN number. Your asbuilt from motor craft may not have the TRM module though as you vehicle was never built with it, hence why I mentioned the saved TRM asbuilt from Forscan.

Dennis you will need to PM your Forscan TRM asbuilt as the data it is not in your factory asbuilt as suspected.

Sorry Tony, I missed part of your post.

Enable Trailer Sway in IPC is;

720-03-02 xx4x-xx

I will also need you to send me your ABS as built to check if trailer sway is enabled.

On another note. It appears that the TRM asbuilt has zero data even if a factory fitted vehicle.

Thanks Stewart,
I will send you the ABS as built file over the weekend.

Thanks,
Tony.

I have exact codes in mine (everest trend) factory towbar fitted at ford. Maybe they are doing something when installing the towbar . I have a clean forscan backup as well if we need to compare

I'll look over the weekend on ids as well

Cheers

There is no asbuilt data in any of these. Everest/Ranger, factory fitted or fitted after factory, the asbuilt is empty.

Speaking with a tech today and it more then certain when the module was installed the programming was not fully completed. There are 2 steps that need to be run and most only do 1.

I will look to get the possible additional step enabled in Forscan but if anyone local wants it cleared then we can test first.
