Please read the disclaimer before proceeding with this project disclaimer

This project is now complete. I spent about 5 hours from start to finish to work out this install. Depending on which route you go it could take as little as an hour to do the install but this will also depend on how much you have already completed.

If I was going to expand this at a later date it would be to add 4 to 6 sensors and enable the vehicle to park itself.

Tools required;

Forscan installed on a PC.
OBDLink MX or fully compatible dongle.
Front sensor loom. Part # TBA
Sensors x 4. Part # TBA

Optional - Replacement console switch. Part #TBA
Optional - 20-22 gauge wire, 2 metres.
Cutters, soldering iron, solder, heat shrink.

First you will need a bumper or bull bar that has provision for the front sensors. The plug for the sensor loom is located on the left hand side of the vehicle, behind the bumper bar near the horns.

The most simplistic way to do the install is without using the MY17 Park Aid console switch as it's not required to have fully operational front sensors. Instead you will turn the sensors off in the instrument cluster. Even though I will show below how to enable the front sensors on the instrument cluster you cannot uncheck them separately to the rears. Unchecking the rears with uncheck or check the fronts.

Asbuilt changes without console switch.

APIM

7D0-04-02 - Enable front sensors on Sync2
xxx2-xx

PAM

736-01-01 - Enable front sensors
x8xx-04xx-xx

736-03-01
x4xx-xxxx-xx

IPC

720-02-02 - Enable front and rear park aid menu - Driver Assist
3xxx-xxxx

Asbuilt changes with replacement console switch.

APIM

7D0-04-02 - Enable front sensors on Sync2
xxx2-xx

PAM

736-01-01 - Enable front sensors and console switch
x8xx-11xx-xx

736-03-01
x4xx-xxxx-xx

IPC

720-02-02 - Disable front and rear park aid menu - Driver Assist
4xxx-xxxx

Additional wiring

Insert a new pigtail to pin 4 on the BCM plug C2280G and splice into console plug pin 7. (Green Brown)
Insert a new pigtail to pin 34 on the BCM plug C2280G and splice into console plug pin 8. (Green Blue)

Connector C2280G on the BCM is; Look straight at the BCM, it is the second plug from the bottom on the left hand side or fourth down from the top.

Without getting technical this is all that needs to be done to get fully functional front sensors.

I'm available to do the install where need be. Depending on what option to opt for will depend on the cost of install.

No I do not have heated seats. I was playing with a Wildtrak BCM Asbuilt. Do not write other vehicles Asbuilts to your vehicle without changing the VIN as your vehicle will not be happy. Use codes above as given.

sorry,My English is not very good.
Do you mean I need to do some wiring even if I have the replacement console switch?

Wiring only if you decide to use the console switch.

The switch is not a requirement and sensors can be disabled from the instrument cluster.

All the button does is give you quick easy access to disable the sensors.

I have given 2 options depending on if you want to fit the switch or just keep your existing switch.

Correct. If you do not know where the BCM is then it is best you do not look at doing the wiring.

I wish to thank Andrew for his generous donation to get his project completed. I hope it keeps his front bumper in good condition for years to come.

I will send back your items this week Andrew and some instructions so you can get it all up and running on your vehicle. If you have any problems with getting it setup then feel free to ask.

Just a note about the new console switch, when you go to Ford for the part numbers you will need to reference two types, one each for the Manual and Auto transmission, they are different orientations on the labeling. I used to have the part number for the Manual version but cant seem to find it, and it wasn't cheap from memory :(

I am really keen to do this Mod, need to get A out of G and start playing with Forscan again. If I get time I will drop in to Ford today and get some part numbers.

I will put up the part # for the auto switch loom etc tonight. From memory I could get a switch for $70 through the right channels.

For auto EB3T-14B436-ATA3JA6.
Manual EB3T-14B436-MBW.

The parts number with price I got them from the seller ,they told me I got the right parts .
But Ford picked it incorrectly .

Hi, saeb, do you have the part no. for the harness and sensors and do they come colour coded and would I need to purchase a my17 front bar or could the my15 front bar be modded to fit?

This is what Andrew sent through to me, so prices may vary.

The sensor is cool white are $98.16 each coloured(F1CT 15K859 AA5A2W )
Switch for auto is $77 EB3T-14B436-ATA3JA6 or Switch for manual is EB3T-14B436-MBW
bezels $17.90 each (x4)
The wiring is $72.17 (EB3T15K867CD )

There is no provision in a MY15 bar but anything is possible and if you had the bezels you may b able to fit them off.

Colour coding I'm unsure. Best ask the dealer.

I can't really give much info. Yes I made them work but just cable tied them to the bull bar so you may be the first person to do a full install. Looks like at least 450$ in parts though so not a cheap project.

Mayby this may work with your Changes. You would still have to do the wiring and add the switch but the rest would bolt on. Bit on the expensive side though $1000 +

Probably would have been myself if you read it here. If read elsewhere then the info has come from here anyway.

Pm me if you want more info.

Is this possible on an late 2016 XLS? Our new Uneek bar has holes for the sensors, and I really dont want my partner to scratch it. It has the factory rear sensors and reverse cam.

Cheers
Steph

I don't believe the XLS has the loom and plug at the front of the vehicle so a new loom would need to be made and run all the way to the internal fuse box ( Near Knee ) /BCM to complete the install. So it's doable but not as easy.

Where is the loom plug mounted? There is a large unused plug below the LH headlight. I cant remember plug colour or wiring colours.

Yes large plug on LHS near horns. It usually has a dummy plug in it. I can take a pic of sensor loom plug if you need it.

Steph, how did you go with the XLS? I was thinking of doing the same thing. I have a Oct 16 XLS.

Stewart, Would this work with any old parking sensors? is it just 4x sensors a bit of wiring and some program changes as above???
a sensor kit is only like $12 on ebay. If this works would be a great add on.
