Have had problems with battery output to caravan.
Ford tell me that they have turned on dual battery mode but problem has not been resolved if anything it is now worse than before.
Have wireless camera on rear of van that requires minimum of 12 volts to work but since dual battery mode activated camera has stopped working altogether.

Hi Jim.

Start the engine and check the charging voltage with a Multimeter.

Do you still have the OEM battery installed?

Hey Jim,
The 12 pin plugs on Rangers are notorious for burning out the accessory pins (usually wired off the lower row of pins). Worth checking to see if they are burnt / blackish and check wiring. Depends where the power is drawn from.

The wiring for the rear lights is also very light and you might be getting voltage drop over the distance, if it draws power from the tail lights. This plays havoc with lots of stuff, especially fridges. Easy enough to use the multimeter (or a cheap voltage meter from Jayco) to test voltage at the connections with van plugged in and truck running. Should show well over 14v if the dual battery mode has been enabled.

Lots of vans require additional wiring run separately to power accessories properly. Worth checking. I've run separate 6 b&S cabling to mine with anderson plugs for all charging and accessories.
Good luck.
