6R80 Dip Stick

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has installed a dip stick to the auto tranny and if yes which one was used.
I would like to make my life a bit easier and not having to crawl underneath for the oil level check.
I am looking at the B&M 22200 and think this should fit. I know it's pricy but again it would be so much easier to check the level.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Cheers

Have a look at https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/ ... 496/page-2 .
I believe the 10R80 and 6R80 have the dipstick hole in a similar place.
The biggest challenge I can see it keeping the tube away from the exhaust.

Yes, Mr. Ford is a sadistic sod intent on causing numerous burns, why else would you locate the dip stick next to the exhaust pipe. -- when I worked for Aston Martin Lagonda at Newport Pagnell in the UK in the late 1960's the design team were obliged to come down to the production area to carry our regular service tasks on any new layout of body and engine/transmission configurations before the new model went into production - they soon learnt to make sure that regular servicing was an easy task and designs like the 6R80 dip stick and installing the EGR cooler behind the engine block hard up against the firewall would never have been allowed.
The Ford 6R80 is a licensed copy of a ZF gearbox so you could look at BMW, Mercs, Audis, Volvos that use any of the following:- ZF6HP19; ZF6HP26; ZF6HP32 that are the same basic box and have the same dip stick port. One or all of them may have an extended dip stick.
For my part, I have the AFE deep finned alloy transmission sump fitted that holds 6 US quarts ( 6 litres ) more ATF and checking the fluid level is something I only do once every 20,000 klms and then only when the box is cold.
