Enable mirror mounted turn signal on PX1

I have not been able to find any information on how to enable the turn signals on my new extended mirrors on my 2015 PX1.

In Forscan, I am able to access the "Mirror Mounted Turn Signal" parameter, but only have two options:
00 Not configured
01 Without Mirror Mounted Turn Signal

Am I missing something? I can't believe I have not found a post on this subject.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Peter

I assume these are replacement mirrors?

Do the original mirrors have turn signals? Some more information, pictures, wiring diagrams etc. would be helpful in answering your question.

When I replaced the factory mirrors with clear view mirrors, the only wiring to the mirrors was to allow for movement of the glass.
Any of the extra functionality available on models above the XLS would need extra wiring and possibly extra modules.

Tony.

Hi Stewart,
Yes, the original mirrors had no turn signals. The replacement mirrors have turn signals. The wiring on the harness appears to match the wiring on the replacement mirror, pin for pin, so I was hoping it would be a simple software toggle to activate the turn signals on the new mirrors, delusional perhaps.
Is it more complicated than that?
Do you know which PIDs might carry such a toggle?

I will try to get photos and diagrams tomorrow.
Thanks for your input.
Peter

It's interesting that when we installed a pair of clearview look-a-likes on the mates BT50 his mirror indicators worked, yet he had no indicators on the original mirrors. He was quite surprised and happy. :)

Hi Stewart, I'll get to the bottom of it on the weekend - have been studying the wiring diagrams.

Thanks for the heads-up, GerryP - that restores my hope that it may not be too difficult. Can you recall the Model/Year of the BT50?

I think it was a late 2015 from memory.

Thanks, Gerry, that would make it PX2 vintage, so definitely capable of accepting mirrors with flashers.

Stewart, I have investigated the hard wiring. The plugs on the door to the mirrors (C5PM26 on the left and C6PM31 on the right) have 10 terminals each with 10 wires from the loom. I have deduced from the diagrams that the pin-outs are:
1 - Earth
2 - Puddle lamp +
3 - Indicator lamp +
4 - Mirror heater +
5 - Mirror adjust X
6 - Mirror adjust X/Y
7 - Mirror adjust Y
8 - Fold collapse
9 - Fold resume
10 - Puddle lamp dimmable return

I have not been able to glean from my PX1 wiring diagrams where the wire on Pin 3 goes to on the loom (to try to intercept it and connect it to the side mounted turn lamp).

So' not too much progress to report, but will persevere - try to get a PX2 diagram to see if that is more informative.

Thank you for the pointers so far.

I’m looking for a way to link the mirror light “LED” called a BLIS system here fancy for blind spot indicator. I’ve seen it simply turned on in forscan forums here but no one seems to know or care how to link a chime to it when it’s flashing. A valuable feature all my other vehicles had before this one. I do have the BLIS already installed.

As per my email. You cannot add a feature that does not exist in the module firmware in the first place.

I ordered, (and received) the Trac Electronics kit to automatically close fold in the mirrors when the remote door lock is applied. One thing I noticed was that the drivers side mini light remains on if I've not neutralised either indicator when I switched off the engine and locked up the Wildtrak - is this a normal warning function that I've never noticed before or is it just an electronic gremlin as a result of fitting the fold-in kit ?
It doesn't bother me and I guess its a handy reminder but knowing how iffy the standard battery is on PX2 Rangers its best to be forewarned

if you leave the indicator lever on then that side lights will stay on for parking so it is likely all you indicator lights are on just you have never noticed before?

There you go, I've had the Wildtrak on the road since March 2018 and I'm still learning about some of the features - thanks a lot for putting me straight - and yes, you're right, I've never noticed it before.

I had a couple of occasions where mine had one side indicator on, I just turned the ignition on and off and thought that was solving it, I didnt realise that I had centered the indicator at the same time.

It was probably 2 years before I new what was actually happening.
