Julie and I were going to the Kimberley this year but as John Lennon said, life gets in the way of your best laid plans so instead we will go there in 2020 for 12-15 weeks and instead do the Cape York thing this coming year.
Departure date, Friday 19th April 2019(Good Friday)
Return Date, Friday 31st May 2019.

If you're interested in joining us let me know. Roughly our proposed route will be :-

Blue Mountains (Home) - St. George. - Emerald - Airley Beach (two days stay over to see the reef) - Townsville - Cairns - Cooktown (R&R -1 day) - Cape York (allow for 7 days travel time there and 5 days return to the Roadhouse) -- Musgrave Roadhouse -- Normanton -- Cloncurry -- Boulia -- Birdsville (2 days stop over) -- Innamincka -- Tibooburra -- Packsaddle Roadhouse -- Mutajtwinji -- Wilcannia -- Home.

We will be camping in our roof top tent, we will NOT be attempting to try our luck with the sheer drop into Gunshot Creek - there are far easier ways of destroying the front end on my Wildtrak.

Mean weather (averages for that time of Year) are :- Rainfall, 100mm over an average of 5 days for the two month period. Temperatures, 20- 27*C

There will be possible detours on the way home to Hells and Carnarvon Gorges and other interesting sites along the way up such as the Daintree NP, all up 5-6 weeks
Shadow Black Wildtrak with accessories and upgrades for touring Australia, mainly the central deserts but also over the next five years the Cape, The Kimberly's Arnhem Land and the Kakadu.
