Asbuilt Spreadsheet

I encourage everyone to read this in full.

I have now removed the asbuilt sheet.

All existing changes that were on the sheet have been added to the non asbuilt area in Forscan so there in just no need for the spreadsheet plus it only adds an additional layer of work.
  • This will encourage people to use the quick selection items rather than enter data wrong.
  • This will make all changes very quick.
  • This will hopefully stop people using overseas asbuilt options that can cause other problems that are not necessarily seen and effect other items in the background.
  • This will cut down the questions asked about changing the asbuilt as there will be no reason to do so. (Honestly I have over 1500 PM's)
  • If members asks a question on how to then you can just point them to this guide and it will answer everything.
As you read this I'm currently entering specific data and additions to be put into Forscan. Amongst some additions should see Tyre size added with the correct calculations being made in the background so all you will need is your true tyre circumerence, note. this will not override the DTC on larger than 2505.68mm option on an automatic.

Quick Guide on how to access and use non asbuilt options.

You will need the Windows version of Forscan, the latest stable releases can be downloaded from their website http://forscan.org/download.html. The iPhone or the Android app will not allow you to do the following although they are handy to monitor the vehicle when driving etc. Currently the Windows version and extended licence are free. For how long I'm unsure.

You will need an extended licence for Forscan. You will need to register on the Forscan Forum at http://forscan.org/forum and once complete can request and extended licence at http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=836 then follow their guides to install this in Forscan.

Once complete, open Forscan and press the connect to vehicle button as below.

Forscan will scan for all the modules in your vehicle. When this is complete it will show ready down the bottom. Now press the microcontroller button on the left.

You will now notice numerous items for selection. We are only interested in non as-built options so the options in the red boxes. Lets select the IPC and press the play button.

You will now see all the available options that can be changed so we will turn the climate menu on or off. Select the Climate Menu option (1), press edit selected (2), option enable or disabled (3) press tick then press the write button (4). Once writing has completed press the stop button (5). Done you have now enable or disable the Climate Menu. * Note that you can make all your changes before pressing the write button and all will be written at once.

This is simplistic as you will get. You will gain no benefit from modifying the asbuilt to get these changes and if anything possibly make a mistake or just spend more time. I always use these quick options myself these days and is one reason why I had them added, it saves me time and saves me referencing my own material.

As I add my reference material through to Forscan you will see these come through into their software.

Excellent!

Isn't there a code for enabling the climate control menu as well?

There are many codes. I will be working on it a little more each day and adding them.

Can I get you to read this and update your info please viewtopic.php?f=2&t=24 , thank you.

Ok. So I've done the Climate Menu change.

E078 0342 00CA

to

D8B8 0342 0002

I seem to have lost the clock on the left menu (just displays --:-- )

Any ideas?

Never mind.

Just noticed:

Also with any IPC change you will notice the clock shows ----. On the stereo display go to settings and resync time to gps time. Bottom option from memory and clock will be back.

You should only be changing one byte for this;

I would say you probably have sirius in the menu now.

Use as below

xxBx xxxx xxxx so use E0B8 0342 0000

To get time back go to your 8 inch Sync screen and change time up then back down an hour and your time will be back or resync GPS.

Yes the code is. Push the off button down the bottom of the air controls. If the unit is off then the outside vents are closed, A/C is off, fan is off. Everything is closed and off.

If you want recirculated air to move then turn unit on and press recirculate and turn fan to required speed.

Recirculated air is on when you turn push the button and turn it all off. Orange light on, range light off. So light is off, re-circulation is on, and fan is off. To achieve what you want to achieve is just a matter of turning the unit off.

Is there somewhere we can get more details on what these are/do? Some are obvious but others, not so much.

eg enable DRL - I don't believe we physically have DRLs so what does enabling it achieve? Allow touch screen input while in motion - I already seem to be able to use the touchscreen though I haven't done it much as it's not exactly safe. Is there something specific that's disabled and I just haven't found yet? Disable Shift Light - what shift light? etc

I can't comment on DRL's, My Sync3 allows for input out of the box, do you have sync3? and the shift light is on manual gear boxes only.
As above DO NOT change anything todo with APIM if you have sync3..

Stewart, I know your a busy man, there may be a need for two asbuilt spreadsheets, sync2/sync3 as it can be a little confusing I guess.

I have enabled DRL on mine to use drl's that came with my bull bar. But you have to install missing pins in the electrical plug to the BCM and run the approprite wiring from there to the lights. DRL's then work in auto mode and can be enabled/disabled from the menu as per factory (Everest).

I will look into some changes. Thanks for the feedback.

DRL's can also be enable to use your existing fog lights or park lights without the additional wiring now.

I usually have the fogs as drl's these days, so no wiring and a 5 minute program.

Touch screen input is Sync 2 only and is listed to the right of the spread sheet.

Shift light is enabled for manual vehicles only. A light that tells you when to upshift and is listed to the right of the spreadsheet.

Any input on notes, changes for the sheet will be welcome.

Hi Stuart,

I have enabled the On/off DRL option in my IPC (Ford Everest Titanium) and it seems to only turn on when the light selector is set to Auto. However, I have noticed that the light isn't as bright as it was.

Is this to be expected?

Is it possible to have it work just like before making the changes but just have the on/off option in the IPC?

Thanks

Yes it needs to be in the auto position. We can change that so they do work in any position if need be.

I'm not sure what you mean by not as bright. Your factory DRL's are not as bright as before? I would revert everything and compare again as there is zero reason for them not to be as bight.

Can you expand a little on how they worked before. I do not have an Everest Titanium so you will have to give me a little more info so I can give you the answers.

Ahh I think I now know what's happening. What I mean by it's not as bright is that it's only working as Park Lights.

I noticed that during daytime, it's a lot brighter but at night it's not as bright.

So basically, during night time (and also during day time the DRL is in "off" mode and is functioning only as Park lights.

What should I change so it works in any position other than off and that it can still be toggled on/off via the IPC setting?

Thanks

DRL's are never on when low beam is on. It's the only way and the correct way.

What is the main thing you are trying to achieve. Your model come out with DRL's standard but no menu in the IPC. Are you just trying to turn them off via the IPC?

What did you change in the BCM, IPC?

Hi Stuart,

By default (my everest came with DRL), the DRL turns on the moment I switch the key to ON position and it remains that way even after starting the vehicle. It doesn't matter if the Light selector is in Off, park light, manual or auto.

The main thing I want to do is to be able to turn it on or off via the IPC.

Here are the changes I made:

BCM
726-16-02:
original 0202 0202 024F
changed to 0101 0101 00xx

726-21-01:
original 1400 0101 0267
changed to 1400 0101 01xx

IPC
720-02-01:
original FFA5 3454 0Exx
changed to FFE5 3454 0Exx

Try also changing;

726-26-01 to
xxxx-xxxx-x0xx

You probably have
xxxx-xxxx-x3xx

Also can you do me a favour and PM me a screen shot of your Everest modules from Forscan? You can add attachments in PM.

Thanks
