Hey, I'm Joel from Albury, NSW. I recently picked up a 2016 XLT supercab. It's pretty stock, but for aftermarket rims. I found this board while chasing information on how to deal with a malfunctioning TPMS, and general forscan information.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard Joely. You should find what you need here... I guess with different rims it wouldn't be a warranty job?

I'm not sure about how I'll go with warranty. Though the defect was there when I picked the vehicle up, so I plan on talking to the dealer I bought it from and having them organise fixing it. But if they don't I'm researching workarounds. Also, it seems I've found a treasure trove of good information here!

What exactly is the issue and do you know if the new rims have sensors fitted?

I have no idea if the sensors are fitted. The issue is when the car is started the TPMS malfunction alert goes off. If I go into the menu settings to clear it, it comes back on after a few k's.

Sounds like maybe no sensors fitted. Might have to pop a tyre and have a look. You can sometimes tell by gently 'bending' a tyre valve stem over... if a sensor is fitted, you may be able to feel it contact the rim and stop it bending any further, but not always a sure fire way to tell.
