Pre collision sound alert and dash alert gone after forscan

I made some non asbuilt changes to a new Sync3 17 Ranger on Saturday on a mates car.
Pre collision red lights come on, but no longer has the sounds and the display on the dash (on don’t recall seeing a display come up....just red lights and sounds).
Did the usual changes like silent mode, seat belt, chimes, DRL’s etc, silent mode, climate to dash, etc.
Not had an issue before with others or mine for the matter.
Any ideas what could have caused this ?
Literally happened Sunday morning onwards.
He has tried it a few times today...but scary...and just Red lights only.
Darryl also feels that when using adaptive cruise, the pic of the car you are approaching is coming on later than usual, but it’s working fine for slowing it down.
Cheers.
Brett...

PM me the IPC saved asbuilt and VIN and I will have a look.

No one else has experienced from what I'm aware.

Hi Team

I turn off pre-collision on dash, but its on again after entering car again - is this standard behavior?
Its way too sensitive - Can I turn it off completely?

Cheers Dreese

Its a safety feature and is why it is enable again.

Give me line IPC 720-01-02 and I will give you a change to test.

Try 0343-1AAA Last 2 characters will sort themselves when you write and press ok.

Not sure how you will test but it should disable forward collision warning.

Yep, worked perfect, last 4 digits = 1A8A
When starting car "Pre-Collision Warning" on dash, click OK and it doesn't pop again until you restart the car.
DTC's inline with the changes otherwise no issues.
Thanks again Stew

Hi long time reader first time poster ?
Did the changes to line IPC 720-01-02 to 0343-1A8A work in disabling the pre collision ? as would love to reduce/disable in mine while i like the safety feature i find the light a issue.

Kind Regards

Jesse

Hi Jesse

Yes it disabled the pre-collision but you'll need to click "OK" everytime you start the car to acknowledge its disabled.

Cheers

HI Guys,

I had the same error when i played with cruise control settings, i think its called "city alert" or something along those lines, adaptive speed etc.

Check all of those selections related to the radar and cruise control and disable all. You should only have Cruise control as setting to on. Let me know and i will go and have a look at exactly which settings should be on. But most should be off. You shouldn't need to disable precollision as it is a "feature" you paid for and shouldn't be disabled for the sake of not finding the problem. Mine is also a 2016 so i learnt the hard way :)

Thanks but it is irrelevant to what had been achieved. The error is on purpose on this occasion.

Hi all,

I've transplanted an XLT/Wildtrak cluster into my PX2 XLS today with a fair degree of success. There is a lack of functionality on the left hand screen (entertainment/navigation/phone etc) but it will/should be fixed when I can find and install a suitable Sync 3 system.

One annoying issue though with the cluster itself is that I'm getting a Pre-Collision System Not Available error message (obviously because the XLS is missing the required hardware). I'm hoping to tap into the brains trust here to see if there is any codes that can be edited through Forscan to disable or remove either the message itself or trick the cluster into thinking the system is working.

It looks like the forward collision detection system is part of the Tech Pack that was available for the XLT/Wildtraks in this series.
Would it be as easy as loading a non-tech pack As Built package to the IPC module?

Just post the saved abt and I will quickly rewrite it and send back or just read your old IPC as-built and write that then add what ever else you want to afterwards.

Success!

Initially tried to get the XLS cluster ABT backup into the XLT/Wildtrak cluster but kept getting to 40% and got a 'Service procedure has been interrupted' message. Deleted all the profiles and reloaded it the vehicle fresh which resolved that.

It couldn't write the 9th block due to some incompatibility but now the pre-collision system error does not come up and all is good in the world.
I've attached the file I used if anyone is doing the same task and comes across this thread/post.

9th block does not exist in the new cluster you used and is why.

I have removed the attached file. People need to use their own files rather than rely on others which may contain incorrect information for their vehicles.

Glad you resolved the issue.
