Limp home mode

Hi guys, I have a small problem with my 2017 ranger 2.2 limited.

So every now and then it goes into limp mode, with the little orange spanner in the display. I brought it to Ford (when it was in limp mode) and they checked it and said there was some turbo fault but they said turbo was fine.

It only seems to go into limp mode when the engine is cold, and when it happens I stop, turn the engine off and back on and it clears and then it's ok again.

The other annoying part is it is random. So might not happen for weeks then twice in a week, it seems completely random.

Ford said they cannot do anything until it gets worse and presents a proper problem. Once the engine is off the fault clears from the computer and there is no trace of it. They did send the fault that they saw to Ford tech people but they haven't a clue apparently.

Has anyone had a similar problem and if so how was it fixed?

Without seeing the fault code only assumptions can be made. I will not make assumptions with no info.

Once you have some info, feel free to post.
