Hi idle after service when cold

Does anyone know if the recent PCM update has raised the cold idle?
Had my ranger serviced last week and they carried out a PCM update. Since then when cold it idles at 1k then slowly dropps.

It is quite annoying and the ute moves farily quickly when in drive and no accelerator, in tight carparks is a bit of a pain

Hi, I would contact the dealer who serviced it and ask them.

About normal, I would ring other dealers and ask.

If you ring enough of them maybe one will be able to help you.

It'll be because the battery charge is low and the car is trying to build charge.

Try turning on the hazard lights as that disables the smart charge system. If the idle speed drops with them on, it confirms that its the battery charge system that's requesting high idle from the engine.

Mine is the same after a service Goochie.

My battery is @ 100%, so nothing to do with that.

I asked for it to be changed back but they can't go back.

If yours does it Ross then it has nothing to do with a PCM update as you have a 3rd party tune.

There will be other factors involved and it may be to do with ambent air temp.
