Reversing camera activation

I occasionally borrow my neighbours 6x4 box trailer, it's small and convenient but totally obscured by the Wildtrak body and impossible to see it when driving in a straight line, the only way is to see its shadow - if there is sufficient light - so, can I somehow activate the reversing camera when driving to observe it ?

Hi.
Unlike Japanese 4WDs and trucks where you can force the reverse camera to display by giving it 12V in the right place, I dont think that's possible on the Ranger. The video feed itself is permanently connected to the back of the SYNC3 display but the reverse display trigger isnt a simple 12V input - It is carried on the CANBUS. Therefore it cannot be easily forced.

Bugger, Oh well, back to the drawing board, I guess the simplest way is to buy a set of theose little balls on spring loaded wires that drivers used to let them know where the curb was only mount them on the mud guards so that I can see them in the rear vision side mirrors, reflective ones would be a bonus

Because I have a canopy and tinted windows (a total of 3 behind me), it's impossible to see anything out of the normal mirror. I installed a number plate type camera and use a clip-on screen on the existing mirror. All up it cost less than $100 for the bits on ebay. It's on all the time while driving.
The screen has dual input, so I use the same screen for the caravan camera while I'm towing.
