I've not had the Ranger long, still getting things where I need them to be as my work bus.
Ute came with a towbar, ECB nudge bar and light bar.

Brought the Redarc tow pro elite V3 with the dedicated wiring harness for my PX2 from Jamie's Touring Solutions, is the harness worth the cost? It was to me, it's the small things like the instructions, terminations, correct grommet, the heavily armoured rear cable, conditioning module etc.

Decided to not locate the V3 control knob on the shift plate as I thought it might be prone to getting bumped off it's setting there.
I brought the Lightforce facia panel from Outback Equipment(that was not as easy to fit as I thought it would be!) so I can easily see and access the V3 as needed, my trailer load varies considerably even in a single day, and it's up out of harm's way.

My light bar switch was the generic teardrop shaped thing stuck to the dash that just looks wrong and I didn't like it there, as the facia comes with a light bar switch it was easy enough to solder that into the existing lightbar harness after cutting the original switch off.

Fitted the Trac mirror fold module, bit of a brain fart as I didn't realise you could get the other module that incorporates the window functions, not that I needed window functions but it would of been easier to do being plug and play, still it's done now and I'm happy with it.

Trac also got the nod for the tailgate central locking, yes I know that many just buy plugs, pins etc and make their own but this kit makes it a walk in the park, the solenoid bracket even comes with scriber cut into it to mark the only hole you have to drill in the latch mechanism, with the drill bit they supply! The instructions are easy to follow, good easy mod, should be stock.

Installed the Pro Vent 200 catch can as well, got a kit from Western Filters, pretty start forward worthwhile exercise, I had actually pulled the intercooler pipe off the manifold last weekend just to see what the EGR valve area looked like, it's not pretty, not blocked bad but looks more like an exhaust pipe than an intake, will get that sorted out soon.

Got a few more things in the pipeline, happy for suggestions and pointers to what I could of done better or should look at as well.
Cheers
Hilly

If you intend doing a bit of travelling outback I think this is a good investment.

Hello Ross, thanks mate, yes I'm onto the filtration side of things, still undecided on which side of the stock filter I want to filter, both sides have good reasoning, leaning towards the secondary though just because if the light comes on I can be reasonably sure I've caught it before any damage is done.

ImageEnded up going the secondary filter way, not a difficult job but a little fiddly, replaced the intercooler hoses with alloy hard pipes as well, intercooler, tranny mods, lift and tune to go as well as an intake decarbon clean out hoorah which I will do soonish.

Did a tranny service today, fitted a B&M trans dipstick while I was at it.
Used that to refill from as well, oil goes in no worries at all.
Fitted the trans bypass valve while I had the old sump off, that's a fun job with the tranny still in the car, gave it a flush after the valve was in.
To do this I cut the suction pipe off the old filter and attached a piece of 19mm clear plastic pipe to it, poked the oring end into the suction port in the trans and the other end into 5 lts of new oil, put a clam shell under the trans and started the car, flushed that though pretty quick, that ATF goes around the circuit pretty damn fast.
Also put a on a trans sump with a drain bung.
Will post a few findings with the valve change after I've towed the trailer for a couple of days to see what gives, have been monitoring it as stock so if anything changes I will know.Image

Haha, sorry mate I forget to take pics when I'm doing stuff, I'll try to do better next time :)
One thing I will say though if you are pulling the valve body out yourself for heavens sake wriggle the electrical sleeve out before you try to drop the bugga, I pulled the harness and the sleeve didn't want to move with my fingers so I went to get something to grab it with, got distracted and started pulling the valve body off before I remembered, by then the thermo bypass had dropped down and didn't want to go back so I had to hold the valve body with one hand and jiggle the sleeve out with the other, not easy laying on ya back lol, live n learn aye.

What was the brand of sump for the transmission with drain?
Do you have any pics of it installed?
