Try this.

PID: 221E1C
Min Value: 0
Max Value: 200
Equation ((A*256)+B)*5/72-17
Header 07E1

Use PID calculator in the first post here viewtopic.php?t=2667

I put that code into my torque app on my phone. Works a treat.

Then I put it into my torque app on my Samsung tablet and it doesn't work it reads -34.7. I have checked to make sure all the settings are the same on both my tablet and phone. Also al the other gauges like boost, tpms, coolant etc are working perfectly just a problem with the auto trans.

I have also restarted the tablet a couple of times.

Any ideas why?

No reason why not. Check the header and if need be pm screen shots from both devices.

I'm getting the -34.7 on Torque app on my S7.

The same config in OBD Link app works perfect. :/

Because Torque is probably set to use degrees Fahrenheit not degrees centigrade.

I based the maths on degrees centigrade.

Try 2 things.

I assume you are looking at a gauge not just the output from the math?

Is the gauge not the canbus output showing the correct temp when changed degrees Fahrenheit instead?

I will test it again over the weekend.

Gauge displays incorrectly also.
I don't think it's your equation because it works in OBD link.

I have emailed the Torque dev.

Pretty sure my degrees Fahrenheit maths were ((A*256)+B)/8 so make another custom PID with that and play with your settings and see what happens.

Ok just tried both of these. One is Fahrenheit and one is Celcius. With units set to Celcius both work and give correct results. The Celcius one could probably changed to -18 though. ImageImage

Must be my phone then. Samsung S7.

The OP had the same issue with a Samsung tablet.

Is there any way this could have affected Sync Ambient temp display?
The reason I ask is because Sync appears to be stuck on 9°

I did that test on a Samsung S7 so there is another issue.

You mean Sync on the 8inch display? Totally separate module and address so no. Try doing an APIM reset in Forscan.

Also do not run more than one scantool at a time as they can conflict.

Twobitz did you ever resolve this?
I'm having the same problem on my S7.

Yeah I have no idea wtf is going on.
It works with OBD link, but not Torque.

*Sometimes* the "test" shows the correct temp, but then when I add the gauge it's wrong, then I check the test again and it's wrong. :(

So I found out that after you add the TFT gauge, you need to exit the app, then go back in again.

Minor bug.

I got the TransTemp guage working a couple of days ago, but dont think it is displaying Temp correctly, before I started my vehicle this morning after letting it sit all night (arrived home 4pm, started 7am so 15 hours off) and noted that transtemp was -7 and engine temp was +7 degrees Celcius. By the time I arrived on site the trans temp was +85 and engine +88 degrees Celcius. My trans does take a while to warm properly as I have a cooler and taken the water/transfluid heat exchanger out.

It is spot on. Ignore the minus. My ultragauge will also do it but it still matches IDS scan tool after 5 degrees I think it was. It's to do with how the calcs are done on ultragauge or Scangauge. You cannot do maths as complex on these devices compared to Torque or OBDlink. Also software devices support setting a minimum which is usually 0.

Your temp are roughly the same as mine.
