Hi all, just wondering if anyone has fitted the pre-2020 HID DRL headlights into a PX2 with Tech pack. I can't see any wiring for headlight levelling but can sort that; I'm more so curious as to whether they will run OK from the BCM given HID's can pull higher power when they're warming up. I figured it's all factory Ford parts, however not sure if they changed the BCM for later models.

I can see discussion on here regarding the post-2020 LED headlight fitment which seemed to be a straight fitment so wondering if this would be the same.

Hi
I have done it. Need to run power straight from the battery for low beam through relays. BCM changes needed.
Do a search for my post of what changes I done with Stewart's guided help.
Edit: same vehicle as yours by the look.

Hi,

I have recently received the drl kit with instructions.
I have managed to input the codes in the BCM as built to enable the DRL and I have also enabled the sub menus on the dash to accept the tick box for the DRL.

The issue that I am having is that the DRL’s are working as they should when they key is in the on position And the switch in auto.
They are bright and go dim when the turning signal is active.
The problem is when the engine is running the DRL’s flicker and the turn off.

I don’t know what can be causing this.

Please bear in mind that I have installed the PX3 bi led headlights to the 2017 limited I believe PX2.

Everything was plug and play and works apart from the DRL’s in auto.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thought I would circle back around to this since I ended up doing it.

Fitted second hand HID-style PX3 Headlights. Fitted relays with resistors in effort to hopefully keep a bit of load on the original BCM feed so that the circuit doesn’t shut down if it sees no load (unsure if it’s a thing or not… I assumed it was).

Currently the headlights work okay, still need to wire the DRLs in and perform the as-built changes.

The headlights seem to flicker off just once, randomly, for a split second, every now and then. More of a blink and you’ll miss it thing, just enough for you to notice. Both sides affected, so it seems upstream. Both have their own feed from the battery and earth on their side of the vehicle.

Anyone seen this and familiar with what BCM as-built change might be relevant? I’ve only just circled back to this so will likely need to re-read the other threads incase it’s been mentioned.

HI Cal0006
Yes you need the direct feed from the battery through relays. i used 1 relay for each headlight lowbeam in case there was a problem i would still have 1 head light working.
After they were on for 10 min or more they would start strobing badly until they went off alltogether. With Stewarts help we we got the flicker down to just a slight flicker after the head lights were turned on. Then finaly no flicker at all.
this is my thread where Stewart helped me out have a read the changes i used and the final changes i have running now are in there.
