Hi Saeb,

I notice in the Facebook Ford Ranger Club Victoria you are able to add Sync3 speed cameras.

As I have the OBD2 and Forscan can you please share what is required for this.

Thanks,

Chris.

APIM 7D0-02-02 xxx8-xxxx-xxxx then do a hard reset. In GPS settings area you will need to enable the notifications.

Some vehicles have xxx0-xxxx-xxxx so change to xxx8-xxxx-xxxx - Less trailer backup assist
Some have xxx2-xxxx-xxxx so change to xxxA-xxxx-xxxx - With trailer backup assist

I see no difference as I don't believe we have trailer assist.

I notice late model vehicle now have it enabled already, especially the Everest.

Mines a Jan 18 build Wildtrack and it's not enabled :( - so definitely not all of them.

Could you please explain how to do this a bit more to a 70yo novice, thanks

Start here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=14 then make a decision if this is something you feel comfortable doing. If not send me a message and you can come and see me in Berwick so I make make the required changes for you.

I am in Adelaide saeb, but thanks for the offer.

I have Territory which has Sync2 and speed camera alert.

The dealer told me Sync3 doesn't have it because the software is Microsoft, Sync2 is Android.

Sync2 is Microsoft, Sync3 is QNX which is a form of Linux.

Sync 3 has speed cameras enabled in the Escape and some very late model Rangers and Everests. There is no consistency to whether it is enabled or not though. It is not something a dealer can do and would need to be enabled on Fords backend servers then an update applied across the range.

At the end of the day the maps do support it but at the rate Ford does map updates I would expect the cameras will never be up to date. Best to you Waze on Android Auto for that or when the next update that comes out supports Waze for Carplay then use that. Bonus is the maps will also be up to date.

So PC0081, looking at your asbuilt for Sync2 it already appears to be enabled.

Have a look in the setting area but it should be called Hazard Spot Warning. Maybe it is not enabled or your current map version does not have the required information.

You can check in Forscan.

APIM asbuilt

Line 7D0-02-02

You should have;
xxx8-xxxx-xxxx Hazard spot enabled
xxx0-xxxx-xxxx Is disabled

Some vehicles have xxx0-xxxx-xxxx so change to xxx8-xxxx-xxxx - Less trailer backup assist
Some have xxx2-xxxx-xxxx so change to xxxA-xxxx-xxxx - With trailer backup assist

I see no difference as I don't believe we have trailer assist.

Anyone with "Sync2" can check this. Sync3 appears to use the same location address.

My Territory is fine, the camera alert works fine with Sync2.

The Ranger with Sync3 doesn't work.

I was after both VINS so I could make a comparison of one that did not have it and yours that did.

Anyway, it's all sorted and is the same bit changes as Sync 3 as per the above posts. Whether there is a menu item in the Sync 2 GPS and MAP settings area like Sync 3 to enable I do not know. A Sync 3 change enable a menu item that was not there previously.

Just to clarify before I have a play... I have Sync3 v3.0 and maps v.16 (latest according to Ford?).

So, if I update 7D0-02-02 to 8xxx etc., switch ignition off - on, I should/will gain a menu entry for Hazard Spot or Speed Cameras or something along these lines in my Navigation settings?

Cheers

I had to reset my Sync3, before hazard warning appeared in the navigation settings.

Trying leaving ignition off for 2 minutes. If you still do not get the additional option to turn on hazard spot in your nav settings then do a reset from the general area in the Sync unit. If I get a spare minute I will do a tutorial, don't hold your breath at the minute though. Feel free to take some pics and upload if you get a chance.

They are on v16 although I have seen version v17 in newer vehicles.

This is for your vehicle only Ross - 7D0-02-02 change to 0208-0000-8065 then press write. Do a reset, then you should have the new alerts in the Nav settings.

Thanks for your time Stewart.

I cycled off/on as told and I now have a Hazard Spot Warning as an option.

I didn't do a hard reset which I assume is to restore it to factory.

If it works as is fine, if not I wii do a factory reset.

No individual write option so I had to Write All.

I backed up the module.
