Not the first and won't be the last
Two mates from the fishing club had their vehicles replaced at 8 weeks old for excessive oil use.
Motors were burning 4 ltrs in 5,000 klms
They looked like two strokes from the back.

As with any new model. Last of the variant may well be the best without all the bugs

Interesting to read some of the comments on the YT video.
Seems perhaps it's not a new issue...........the same basic engine has been used in LR Discovery's for years and judging by the comments it was a known issue with them as well.
I guess the moral of the story is.........if it's using more oil than diesel you probably want to get it checked before you drive to the middle of the outback.
The lack of warning lights was concerning though

Agreed, no oil warning light or limp mode is interesting

It's called cost cutting.
Same motor has been in the F150 in the USA for years, I wonder if they have any issues.
