Forgot about this but if your PX2 is running calibration EB3G-14C204-BTS or BTT then I would not ask for an update unless you really really need it.

Calibration EB3G-14C204-BTU is a really bad tune for power and economy and I noticed it immensely. Honestly I thought the vehicle had an issue.

For all that use Forscan you will see the version in the modules tab when connecting to your vehicle in Forscan. Your dealer will not be able to reverse it either nor can they select a version.

It appears BTU is the latest update available.

It's possible that calibration only affects pre DPF PX2 models.

I've got the same calibration on my one (pre DPF) and didn't notice any difference after they flashed it. To me, my economy and power feel the same.
I've still got my stinky cold exhaust smell, which was the reason they flashed it.

Good to see it doesn't affect them all then.

Hi

I have following PCM hardware / firmware ( 2017MY DPF Ranger )

PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: EB3G-12A650-KE (latest known: EB3G-12A650-EFK)
Strategy : EB3G-14C204-EFD
Hardware type: EB3A-12B684-DC

Is it worth asking for any firmware upgrade ? It does seem a bit sluggish and rattly when very cold.

At my service last week, the service shop ( won't say where ) said they never upgrade the PCM unless instructed to by Ford under a warranty claim.

I've had mine done twice during a service twice already, mainly to stop the cold combustion rattle. No problems, they just did it. Try a different dealer I reckon.

Thanks.

I gave them an unfavourable online survey and seems Ford got on to them and told them to call me.

They have offered a free PCM upgrade, but I am not sure I would trust that dealer to do it, so will try someone else
