Bit of success playing with firmware today.

Can now run any tyre size I like in the BCM with no DTCs.

So now have a 6 speed auto with the correct tyre sizes for DTE for once. Yay.

More will follow and if all testing pans out then the fix may be available in selected locations sooner or later.

Testing is complete, no issues and no errors. Have ran the BCM up to 09D0 the other day and still no issues.
Currently away for a few days and fine tuning the vehicle speed sensor to match GPS as close as possible.

Have added high resolution kph to Ultragauge so reading as 000.000 and GPS app that shows 10s. I'm close to perfect.

Calculated change should be 0986 but real work it will end up about 0992 I think.

Good news. What's involved in implementing?

Hi Stewart,

Great work again mate your all over helping us guys out with your constant development.

I'm interested with the value for 33's mate (285/65/18) if you don't mind? I will adjust mine then to correct everything the correct tyre/wheel size.

Cheers,
Jonesy.

Custom TCM tune basically.

I have given the changes to Barry so as he gets time people with existing BPT TCM tunes will have the option to upgrade the their TCM tune through him. I will NOT modify an existing tune of Barry's to allow it, we chat weekly and will support each others endeavours rather than rip off and steal each others findings.

When he does get time to implement the cost will be be $150 for the upgraded tune file if you already have his existing tune.

Please do not hassle him as he has a whole lot more to do being a fully fledged workshop, it cannot just revolve around this. Ask him respectfully and advise that you are will to pay for the update.

Otherwise I will do stock modified TCM firmware to support any tyre size change, same as above the cost will be $150 which will include the latest TCM firmware with the fix and BCM changes to bring within 1% of factory. Not the 1% is because so many of the tyres we have here run diffent depth tread.

I will look at a Brisbane meet in late January, early Feb. Canberra probably the same, Melbourne is anytime, Perth by appointment, Adeleaide by appointment.

If you have Forscan you can refine further if you wish.

Eg. my 265/70/ R17 calculate at 0986 but with some work with a GPS, 0992 is what seems to work for me thus far with DTE being within .07 lph. Vehicle display 11.3lph and manually calculated 11.23lph. Being the cluster will not show 100th means it will round up and down so DTE on the last fill was between .03 and .07 between the cluster ans actual. I have only just started my next tank so time will tell, for this one I have dropped to 0990.

You can log the APIM GPS againt the high precision vehicle VSS where both will shows 10ths but being the vehicle GPS speed it very slow to update its not a perfect solution.

Assume it is a 6 speed.

I write and flash my custom files. So depends on where you are located to what I can do.

Cannot really do anything in NSW at the moment. I'm in Vic and you are in NSW and current circumstances tell it all.

Change you tyre size back to 0977 as per calculator for now.
