I have a new ranger raptor 2.0L that’s only done around 5000km, I’ve been getting around 800kms or more to a tank.

I recently had some electrical work done that involved disconnecting the battery and other electrical plugs a few times.

Somehow after this the fuel gauge seems to be reading incorrectly, by what seems to be around 200kms.

The distance to empty reads about 150km – 200km less even when the car has just been filled up.

For example, I filled up to full the other day, and set the odometer to zero to test this, I’ve now driven 200kms and the trip computer is reading 300kms to empty, this is just from normal city driving. I would usually expect the trip computer to read 600kms to empty in this scenario.

Searching the web has suggested that this problem resolves it’s self over time, it’s now been 2 weeks and 2 tanks of fuel.

Any suggestions?

Just time, the long term average has been cleared so it should improve.
