Trying to fix a short DPF Regen cycle and have been driving around data logging as many PID's as I could find for my px2 3.2l diesel.
I used one, not knowing what it was at the time (GPF Gasoline Particulate Filter) and found that it works on my diesel ?, anyway, it is the trigger point for my diesel to do a re burn when it reaches 100%.
Could somebody please explain that one to me, it may help in tracking down my issue.

I am using forscan software in my windows 10 laptop with an obdlink cable.
The PID, I have found in the available pid's for my connected car is GPF_SOOT_PCT_CL%.
This pid works and is the only DPF, type pid (I have all available in the table section whilst driving and live streaming) that corresponds to the start of my DPF Burn. At 100% GPF_SOOT_PCT_CL%, triggers the burn then over about 7km's the % goes back to about 15% and the burn stops. The other DPF soot type pid's give small increases but none correlate to the exact time of burn other than the GPF PID.
As the GPF pid is meant for gasoline engines, wondering why it is an option in forscan for my vehicle and wondering is it a typo error, should it be PDF, rather than GPF ?

I am not familiar with any of that but I do know on a Ford update the burn cycles are quicker than they used to be
Some with later models are only doing 200 klms between burns
I use a tablet with the OBDLink dongle to monitor with

Seeing what you display there, I may try to emulate your display or similar. You have a lot of data I am interested in.
Does your px2 do burns at 100% of your DPF Soot %

Temp starts to rise around 98 - 99% until it 600deg plus @ 100%
Then both the temp & percentage drop back slowly

got the transmission temp pid into the obdlink app, thanks, very well explained and documented.
Could you point me in the direction of where I can find the other formulae etc for the other PID's you use. Are they in one place ?
ie. PDF Soot % etc

I pUt the DPF SOOT Blockage in presuming that is your DPF SOOT % ?. Anyway mine is reading 0%, and it should be about 60% based on my laptop stuff.
I saw what you said about errors in the formulae etc, but its B in this case. header 7E0, PID 057B, Any suggestions ?

Check your PID entries, amazing how many times you can miss something

Thanks just did a drive and the soot loading went from 0 to 2 over about 80 km's.
Still trying to understand the fuel pid numbers. My fuel remaining shows 120%, fuel level input 80%. Dist to empty coming up.
I have a 140 l tank and put that into the fuel remaining % formulae ((A*100/255)/100)*140. The other pids cant know I have a larger tank but still trying to understand what those numbers are doing.
I mentioned to stewart in a reply to his 2018 posts about air/fuel ration pid that I tried the air/fuel pid available in obdlink but 0 only displaying.

Have you changed the tank size with Forscan?
In the OBDLink ap you can select several Fuel related PID's
DTE, fuel remaining, instant usage etc

Yes, I did, are you thinking that these new PID's are calculating on that ?

do you know why my Fuel remaining % is greater than 100 % ?

Thanks, Filled up my tank today and the fuel remaining % went to 140. I changed the formulae from ((A*100/255)/100)*140 to ((A*100/255)/100)*100, and that put the full tank to 100% rather than 140%.
My DPF Soot % only goes to 3 than does a regen. It goes 0 then 1 then 2 then 3 over about 150km now. The formulae is B, so I added *33. When the soot level went to what was 1, it now shows 33%. Not sure why my scale seems to be from 0 to 3 when yours is 0 to 100%.

As per calculator ((A*100/255)/100)*140 is to show litres and not % "((A*100/255)/100)*Tank Size for Ltrs"

calculator stipulates A*100/255 only for %

All ((A*100/255)/100)*100 is doing is my above % then dividing by 100 then multiplying by 100 which is the same result but twice as long.

ok, thought it was %.
It looks as the pid relies on the float level position to report fuel used, rather than what volume is injected into the cylinders. In my 140 tank, I do about 300km, before the 140 litres starts to reduce.

Yes, it is a one wire analogue signal from tank to cluster.

Test DPF Soot Blockage on OBDlink again. I had wrong maths.
