Firstly thanks for accepting me into the group.

My problem- I bought a 2014 PX1 Auto 2.8 diesel and the last chap seems to have shorted the earth on the left headlight which I believe has damaged the Body Control Unit. (The fitting is scorched and a tad melted.)
Starts and drives fine. Is mostly working.
The issues I’m having were there was no left low beam but it had high beam. I found 3 fuses blown under the passenger seat fuse box. Replaced them and since then I’ve got very very weak low beam. Only one high beam.
The radio isn’t working either although it lights up.
Not sure if that’s another fuse behind the dash or the BCU as well.
There’s no hazard lights.
The dash lights are working but very low as well.
Is there somewhere I can get this repaired?
I’ve been trying to get a viable one from the wreckers- am told I’d need the BCU, the ECU and a key fob to suit that vehicle so I can simply swap out my physical key over into it. Then I’m assuming I can simply plug in the ECU and BCU and off I go. Would need to be an identical vehicle - PX1 2.8, auto 2014.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

Welcome to the group Deano. The BCM can possibly be reset. If not a replacement can be fitted, but will need to be programmed to match your Vin number.
I'm sure Stewart will be able to help and steer you in the right direction to sort your issues out

Patience Deano as Stewart is a busy chap and sometimes takes a while to log on here, especially if he's travelling. If it's urgent, you could try sending him a PM.

Take you second hand BCM to the dealer, have Ford do a PMI and PATS and you will not have to purchase all the other modules.

Just an update.
So I’ve done an OBD check and it’s not coming up with any errors.
But still I have very low headlights and only 1 high beam.
The dash light button doesn’t function either and dash lights are there but very low.
Radio and hazard light functions non functional either.
I’m wondering why the OBD scanner doesn’t pick these up?
Thanks for welcoming me into the group.

Cannot answer why it does not pick them up, what scanner are you using for this? I will make a guess that the tool you are using cannot read DTCs from all modules or you would see something.

If it is a quality unit and no DTCs then you have bigger problems that should be looked at be a competent auto electrician.

So, just a quick update.
My problem has been solved.
I did as suggested and bought an OBD scanner and that helped.
But, it wouldn’t have but I managed to work out that the left side halogen has a manufacturing fault and was getting hot. Very hot on the earth wire.
I’m really surprised it didn’t cause anything to short in the BCM. But as soon as I’d swapped out the faulty hallogen and reset the BCM it all came good.
I’m also surprised the initial OBD scan didn’t pick up on the light fault but I guess it could be because I didn’t have the lights on whole doing the OBD check.
Cheers guys.
