Would anyone happen to have a pinout diagram for the headlight connector? (It looks like a Delphi GT 150 series connector I think)
Would like to make a custom harness that connects between the wiring loom and the headlight so I can fork off the DRL wire to a new set i'm installing without modifying the factory wiring.
Information: Following the announcement on October 23, 2023, this site has been archived as of July 1, 2024. For further details, visit this page.

On second thought the connector is probably a TE Connectivity Econoseal J 070 Mk II+ Series Plug and not a Delphi as I first thought.

Pin out attached. If you wait until next week I can get the connector view and part number if available for you. My subscription ran out yesterday.
Pig tails are made for most components I find.

Cheers Stewart,
I went out at lunch with a multi-meter and believe I have determined the following pin to be for the DRL.

Being SA built you may well have the loom to support it. It's far easier to look at the BCM to see if the correct pins are there in the first place though. I find if the pins are at the BCM end then they are also at the other end.
As you know the pin numbers on that plug should match up with the pin out I sent you and if they do indeed exist then you possibly already have the H15 globe installed.
If you need further info feel free to hit me up.
Did you get your rear lights done?

Yea I have those horrible H15 bulbs but i'm installing osram LED fogs/drl now so i'll be bypassing them.
I have ordered some bits and i'm going to be making a custom wiring loom so they behave how i want and i'll post a pic to show if anyone is interested.
The tail lights... yea bit of a set back on that, still need some things to get them how I want (expensive parts from USA) so that project is still ongoing but very slowly.

Connectors arrives and of course they are the wrong bloody ones, my mistake. The MX150L is not the same as the MX150 i'll know that for the future to avoid another sting to the wallet.

Okay so I'm done, took about two hours. Who would have thought it would take so long to install fog lights..
So this is what the factory DRL's look like. Yuck.
So after creating my wiring loom I set out to install, after about an hour figuring out how to remove the bumper I arrived at this stage. Then another hour and I was done. I wanted to make my own wiring harness for two reasons.
1. With it hocked into the factory DRL wiring I can still enable and disable the DRL's from the IPC.
2. I wanted to maintain the functionality of the DRL turning off when the indicator is turned on as show in this pic. Yes I do realise that my ranger is super dirty
Stewart I managed to source the plugs from a chap on ebay selling Harley Davidson parts as they are the same plugs. Molex MX150 series is what they are not the MX150L like I got first. Molex do not product the MX150 series anymore but there is plenty still floating around. The plugs I used for the DRL trigger wire to the fog lights is a AMP SUPERSEAL 1.5 Series which are readaly available and I also had to make a small loom to interface into the Osram fog lights without splicing into the wires and to make each fog light DRL turn on independently, this required JST Sumitomo 6 Way HM 090 connectors.

Thanks Astro, I have an idea.
Tell me why you want the fog to turn off with DRL on, they are so far apart would it matter, or it is law where you are?

Not sure if it is EU law but most vehicles seem to do it when they are in close proximity to the indicators to make them more visible when activated. I want them this way because I may install auxiliary indicators next to the fogs in the future and don't want to have to change all the wiring again.

Ok. You would not have to change the wiring. It can all be changed in Forscan in the BCM.

If I had wired the Fogs with the instructions they came with the DRL's would come on with the ignition and would not be controlled by the BCM.

No I mean in the BCM you can change if the fogs go off with indicators on etc.

Stewart, that schematic you posted there looks to be positive switching. I have been led to believe the Ranger has negative switching. Is that correct?
I bought a "plug and play" driving light harness from Stedi, that doesn't play with my Ranger. I am having issues getting it to work. The plugs that came with it don't fit, and I am not sure what wires to solder it to behind the light.

Looks like positive switch to me, Toyota's were generally negative.
Feel free to post your Stedi schematic, then we can work it out.
I would be looking at the Violet/Orange wire on the right hand headlight as it is the easiest to get to.

Between what you posted here, and what I got off the Ford.com.au site(https://www.ford.com.au/content/dam/For ... als_au.pdf), I now have the correct information.
And yes, it is positive switched.
I have it going now. I used the LH headlight as it is closer to where I mounted the relay, which is close to the battery as that is how long the cables were that came on the harness.
I spliced into the headlight side of the plug, which is a white wire.
When I get my photobucket up and running, I'll post up some pics of the project...with information about what wire was used etc. It took me bloody ages to find the wire info. Hopefully I can make it easier for someone else.
The lights I used are from Lazer lamps with their grill mount for the PX2(MY16). they look great. Though I am yet to road test them. My wife is crying about having burnt out her retina when I tested them( she was standing in front, watching to see how bright they are )
I have an early start in the morning, cant wait to try them out.

If possible do a post and use the full editor and preview option. Photobucket is unreliable and leaves a forum left with no pictures when and if they decide to block everyone's access again. Drag and drop your pics into the full editor, it's pretty easy.Sibron wrote: ↑Mon Jun 18, 2018 9:07 pm Between what you posted here, and what I got off the Ford.com.au site(https://www.ford.com.au/content/dam/For ... als_au.pdf), I now have the correct information.

Hi Astro
Would you have the part numbers for the plugs you got for your setup as I would like to make a piggyback to wire in a lightbar to the highbeam on my 2018 FX4
Cheers.

Hi Meerkat,
I just did the same and bought the MX150 plugs on ebay, you need the following two.
Male 33482-4801
Female 33472-0801
Make sure you get the right terminal size, I have taken the ones for 14-16AWG wire HD# 72272-07.
I used a proper crimp tool, but it still required some manual "optimization" with pliers to get the terminals in the plugs. Take your time and be gentle, you don't want to damages the seal inside the plugs.

Hi All,
Have purchased and installed Stewart Drl pin kit, and was wanting some info on disabling the drl corresponding to the side which indicator that is activated.
Does anyone know if I've overlooked a setting in forscan or if it's something that I need to configure in the asbuilt codes?
I've currently got the drls working, and getting 12v to ground from each individual pigtail on pin 36 & 40.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Do I understand correctly, that you wish to disable the DRL on the side that you currently have a turn indicator turned on for then to come on again when the indicator is turned off?Phatallen wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 12:43 pmHi All,
