I bought my Ranger XLT in November 2016, build was around October and was under the impression it was My17. Recently had it back for a service for a cold motor tick which supossed to be fixed by a firmware update. Looks like it has stopped the tick for now. Since then I have purchased a dongle and plugged it in. Found that it reports the engine as a MY15 model. 2 years difference between them. Anyone any idea on what is going on?

My 2018 model is also reported as a MY15 through Forscan.

I guess from 2015 to 2018 was the model run, not a lot of difference between the years/models.

I think the 2019 Px3 is different.

Must be how it is then. Thanks for that.

The MY reported from scan tools is unreliable. My 2019 built PX3 is reported as a MY18 which is obviously wrong, the biturbo wasn't even available before MY19 on the XLT.

The 2019 model would have been built in 2018 i think, if not your particular car then that is when the px3 started production.
Look at your compliance plate for the Manufacturing date.
Mine is a MY18 manufactured in 2017.

Take the year reported with a grain of salt. Different PCM calibrations can throw it off.

My build date is MAR 2019, it is a MY19 car, but as I say it reports MY18 on forscan.
