I like an Alloy for a spare, not to match but to reduce the weight if I got to manhandle the spare.

I managed to get a rim and had my tyre fitted.

The steel rim faces down but because of the different shape where the support bracket sits, the Alloy rim has to face up.

I am not sure if it is stable enough like that so I modified the original so the Alloy hangs facing down.

I will see how it goes.

I was going to buy a second hand spare winch gear and modify that.

Contacted 3 Wreckers who quoted me from $145 to $155.

Phoned a Ford dealer, they are $161 new.

Same part from Wreckers in Queensland is $77 delivered.
