G'day all,

First time post here.....

I have searched (although be it could have been a bloke look) but have not found an exact answer to my problem......

I have just taken delivery of a 2013 XLT 3.2ltr and I was travelling on the hwy at approx 103kmp/h, cruise control engaged.

The vehicle on two occasions dropped back to I assume 4th gear (vehicle is auto) then changed back to 5th and stayed there revving above 2000 rpm. I disengaged cruise and the vehicle still stayed in 5th and only went to 6th gear when I changed it manually.

I stopped and checked under car for leaks as I thought possibly could be losing or lost oil from gearbox, nothing found....

Could my car have a DPF and this have been what was happening? Does my car have a DPF from factory? How do I tell?

Any assistance is very appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Definitely no DPF, introduced in 2016 PX2.
As to the CC I can't help you I'm afraid.

Hi Ryan, if you changed to 6th manually sounds like you had it in sport mode in which case it will drop down to 4th earlier and hold the gear longer when in auto and will stay in 5th longer than normal drive.

Hi Metho,
I put in in sports mode only after I had already dropped back to 4th in normal mode (drive)..... since this mentioned incident it has free revved when in drive doing approx 15kmp/h trying to accelerate.... then it found a gear again and took off.....
Thanks,

That isn't good at all.
You will need to get the trans checked out.

So an update on what's happened now.....

I took it to my local ford dealer, obviously it didn't fault for them, however, they cleared 2 x codes ( U2300:55-2Aipc Central configuration & U2300:56-2Aqpc Central configuration )...... everything was going well until yesterday afternoon when under acceration it 'popped' out of second and free revved (again this is an auto transmission) then again today engine light, powertrain light and traction control light cam on dash and won't go away.

Back to the dealer I go
Thanks,

Further to the above the ford dealer here has decided they think it's the TCM that requires replacing, apparently they have verbal go ahead from the dealer I bought from, but we're waiting on a PO# on Friday, was supposed to hear today at the latest but in true ford style I heard nothing.... I will be chasing them tomorrow.

Cheers.
Thanks,
