Gday Stuart. So I’m wondering if there is a similar way to wire up an my18 and earlier model Everest. As they are thru the brake pedal switch but that’s no good for the aeb or adaptive cruise either. Any better spots to connect to on those models that u know of? Redark tow probably elite.

They did not have AEB so rear tail brake light as trigger is ok. Adaptive cruise will brake when needed to and apply brakes light so should be fine.

I did try the trailer brake lights to activate but that gave feed back to controller and locked it on. I should have tried the car taillights then as that would not have gone thru the trailer module? Thanks Stuart.

Yes, use the vehicle brake light.

I have a 2017 XLT with aftermarket brake controller. ( Tekonsha )
The Ford Body Modification Manual says do NOT install brake sense line to brakelight wire.
It has to be installed to the brake light pedal switch.
I guess this is because connecting to brake light line might upset CANBUS ?

Manual also says to turn adaptive cruise control off when towing. ( you can still use normal cruise control )
I guess this is because when brake sense line is attached in the approved way, the activation of vehicle brakes by the ACC will not activate trailer/caravan brakes.

Tails lights and brake pedal switch are not run by and have nothing to with Canbus on a PX2.

Use either or, it is not a problem and has been completed either way on hundreds of PX2s so far, with the vehicle and brake controller still functioning as it should.
