Issue: Some 2015 Everest and 2015 Ranger vehicles built between 01-Jun-2015 and 15-Sep-2016 equipped with a 2.2L or 3.2L engine may experience an illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0489 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) A Control Circuit Low) or P0490 (EGR A Control Circuit High) present. The probable cause for this concern is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve sticking.
Action: Should a vehicle present with the above concern, technicians are advised to follow the Service Instruction below.

Service Instruction
1. Connect IDS to the vehicle.
2. Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the latest service calibration using IDS release 102.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained from the Professional Technicians Society website – Select Rotunda - Diagnostic Tool Support - IDS Support - Module Reprogramming.
3. Clear DTC(s).
4. Evaluate the vehicle to ensure correct operation.
5. Complete the following drive cycle to clean the EGR Valve
a. Start and run the engine for 30 seconds and then switch the ignition to OFF.
b. Repeat Step (a) 6 times.
c. Drive the vehicle for 5kms.

Got this code last June 2016 when my everest 2.2 is still at 700kms old. Dealer only reset the PCM and didn't comeback. Running 13,000kms odo at the moment.

Got my rig's PCM updated to latest calibration. They call it TSB 16-2063 though.
Idle overall driving got more refined.
A/C clutch engagement is smoother as well.
No more hunting idle at AC on and engine is cold.
