Hey all,

I'll be calling the dealer next week, but wondering if anyone knows what tyres the Wildtrak comes with on the 18s?

I'm considering upgrading by trading them in towards some A/Ts if they are only wearing standard road tyres.

Not going hardcore offroading, at most will be towing a heavy horse float (around 3t loaded) through grassy paddocks, and some beach driving.

Also considering changing the standard 18 wheels down to 17s or even 16s, whichever will give the best balance of road manners and reasonable offroad traction when wearing A/Ts.

Looks as though it has not changed, 265 60 r18.

Thanks for the reply Saeb. I know the size is the same, was wondering about the actual brand of tyre so I could check reviews. All good, I'll call the dealer today they should be able to let me know.

So the current plan is to trade the 18s and whichever tyres it comes with (ford still doesn't know apparently) to my local Trident store.

With all the legal dramas in Qld at the moment, Im keeping it as close to factory as possible.

No lift or flares, so a bunch of wheels weren't possible due to offset poke.

Have decided to go with ROH assassins in 17x8 139.7 with +30 offset, wearing BFG KO2 T/A LT275/70R17. This should apparently fill the wheel well nicely vs the standard 265/60/18 it comes with from factory.

@Saeb or anyone see any problems with this choice? ARB dealer thinks this size shouldn't have any problems scrubbing or poke.

Thanks all. :)

Honestly I'm not up with the offsets so can not answer. Hopefully someone else can chime in?

Tyre size should be OK though. Are you getting them installed before or after you pick the vehicle up?

I have the same rims on mine, but I'm running 285/65-17 Toyo's. I have flares on mine and while they're nicely inside, I reckon I'd be poking out slightly without them.

The standard offset on mine (2017 XLT running 17's) was +50mm, so they are an extra 20mm wider each side. With the smaller 275's you might be OK though?

Will be installed before I take it. Ford will give me a call soon as it arrives as I want to be there when they are fitting the new wheels/tyres.

Shame the new sensors mean I cant get the summit bullbar/driving lights installed until after ARB gets everything testing and working.

Yeah the factory 265's on 18s are +25 I think the bloke said, so the 275s at +30 should pretty much be right on. (I had details written down on a quote but gave it to the ford guys to get organised for me on pickup)

He used that online calculator that had the diagrams and all the settings, as I wanted to make sure that I was complying with SA laws and ADRs with all that crap going on up in Qld.

Cant afford to buy shiny new wheels then have to remove them after being defected. :)

Yep, 50mm wider track at most could hurt people with a large offset and flares.

Shame you are getting them done first, would have been nice to hear your opinion on the difference between new stock and new ko2 in regards to road noise. Mickey Thompson at3 I'm classing as bloody loud in compassion to factory tyres.
