Hi Stewart,
I had a look at this tonight. I backup the Asbuilt modules before I makes changes (however a melted hard drive on an old laptop has lost this data...I now backup to the cloud).
My last update of the PCM by Ford at its service, has caused my AMP's into my batteries to drop dramatically....and never gets back to 100% on both of my batteries and camper trailer batteries have been suffering too. Voltage is fine, and still shows Dual Battery Mode at 100% (i only noticed this PCM change as the cruise control now works in 1kph increments, whereas before it was in 2kph increments)
I have gone to the Motorcraft site, but cannot seem to locate anywhere on that site to download asbuilt data for my VIN or any VIN for that matter.
Do you know where I need to go at the Motorcraft Service site (using the address you provided with asbuilt at the end) ?
Regards
Brett....

PCM update should not make any difference and the charging is controlled by the BCM anyway.

When the calibration file was updated it would not have changed the asbuilt so I would not write it back. PCM asbuilt holds a lot of long term injector settings etc and writing over may not be the best idea.

With the above link you need to go to the site, select your language, where it will be stored in a cookie, then click the link again and you will then see the correct page.

I cannot answer why your amps have dropped, have you had your main battery tested? You could try a BMS reset in Forscan and see if it helps but I just see no reason for a PCM update to affect the current in and out.

Being you would have Sync2 or Sync3, I cannot remember if you updated or not. I cannot keep up with names and usernames as I'm getting 100 PMs a weeks at them moment.

If Sync2 then, yes it is something Ford did, if Sync3, has it been on wifi? Some users reported the 1kph changed even though they had not been to a dealer.

Thanks Stewart.
On the same night it did activate my Fog Lights as DRL’s...that was the only change.
SYNC 2
Load tested battery and test was slightly above specs, and 2nd battery 5% below spec.
I did a BMS reset when I added the new battery. Will try that again and will try your suggestion with the motor craft link and see if I can locate the appropriate asbuilt file.

Hi Stewart,
Loaded the BCM absuilt and all ok.
Have now added the Dual battery mode at 100%, and turned 12v outlets back to 10 secs.
It’s rejecting some of the changes for the ICM asbuilt codes from motorcraft.
It will not accept 720-02-01 CF25 3C94 0EFC and leaves it as XXXX 3C90 0FF9
It will not accept 720-02-02 41C8 0135 and leaves it as XXXX A1D5
It will not accept 720-06-01 0000 0652 0086 and leaves it as XXXX 0000 002E
All of the things I activated using Forscan non asbuilt seem to be now changed and throwing no dash light...have not run a DTC check.
Charging has improved significantly only after reloading IPC and not by reloading BCM by itself, but still not where it was before the night I activated the DRLs for the fog lights, and after the service that day...maybe coincidence ?
It seems that either Ford changed this with the PCM update but you have advised that only the BCM changes the charging or me activating the DRL’s has caused the change.
I know you are busy...and I am in no hurry.
I have left IPC as is with the Motorcraft asbuilt and made no further non asbuilt changes.
Have attached ICM abt files before saving Motorcraft asbuilt codes and after the upload of these (shows the ones mentioned above that rejected), and BCM abt asbuilt files after loading.
Must be something with the rejected changes ?

UPDATE......charging crappy again this morning at 70% SofC. Thinking I must have an alternator issue, due to occasionally it goes well, but majority of the time its pretty sick.

What hardware are you using to program?

Do you have access to the internet while programming? If yes, can you install Teamviewer, then let me know and I will sort it quickly.

I assume you mean IPC, not ICM.

I would like to get everything back to stock before you proceed with any changes.

On a side note, the thread got me pretty confused. I just noticed the member that started it is not yourself. I have split this thread into it's own.

Thanks Stewart
I use the Red OBD link MX wifi.
Sorry...yes IPC.
Access to the net...not via this dongle I don’t think ?
I can have a separate laptop open and have used teamviewer in my iOS laptop before. But don’t think that helps much.

Guaranteed I will forget now that I have read your post. Flick me a PM and I will go over this stuff sometime on the weekend, lots of people are having issues at the moment and I'm trying to save the world a day at a time. I will help you sort it though.
