Hi all!

Can someone explain how this logic works looking at these part numbers and hardware types:
2015 PX2 Ranger XL 4x4:
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: EB3G-12A650-GE (latest known: EB3G-12A650-BCV)
Strategy : EB3G-14C204-BCP
Hardware type: EB3A-12B684-DC

2017 PX2 Ranger XLS 4x2 (my Ranger)
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: EB3G-12A650-GE
Strategy : EB3G-14C204-BBT
Hardware type: EB3A-12B684-DC

2019 PX2 Ranger XLS 4x2(I think)
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: EB3G-12A650-GF (latest known: EB3G-12A650-BCV)
Strategy : EB3G-14C204-BCU
Hardware type: EB3A-12B684-DC

The 2015 and my 2017 currently have same part number and are same hardware type, different strategy.
Why does 2015 get flagged for part number change and not 2017?

2015 and 2019 have different part numbers and same hardware type but both are flagged for the same new part number.

All three share same hardware type.

I'm curious why the 2017 doesn't get flagged for new Part Number.
Any thoughts?

If they are local then it could anything from automatic or manual amongst other things.

Latest for 2 of them is EB3G-12A650-BCV and the EB3G-14C204-BBT is already the latest available.

Ford are not going to make new hardware for every firmware revision as there was approx 103 variations of the latest world wide last time I counted. There is a reason it is different as there is a difference with the vehicle options.
