Hi All,

I'm going to me conducting mid life oil changes (PX3 3.2L) and would like some personal experience with what you are using and how you find the oil Brand. One source i have spoken to, was using Penrite 5W30 full synthetic and changed to Nulon equivalent and immediately noticed almost no rattle on start up, so this type of first had experience is appreciated.

cheers
Geoff

Diesels rattle and I don't think any oil would reduce that
Of course if it was done in front of me then I would have to reconsider
I use Penrite 5w30 Full Synthetic, the "preferred" one
Personally if I lived up north I would use a 10w40w oil
Lighter oil is like water once hot

I use castrol as I can get it from a local ag store in 20L drums. After talking with the castrol tech you can phone I use the same 0 30 in the ranger and escape. About $180 for 20 L.

I have used the tech line for years and last week called it again for landcruiser V8 oil. It is a 0 30.

I specifically asked him about the oil viscosity and towing in FNQ. He said that the temp V Viscosity charts have no relevance with modern synthetic oils, and that the oils will handle the heat just fine.
