Hi Folks
I use Forscan and have an ultragauge in the truck but recently had intermittent problems with egrt sensor while away. Ultragauge didnt show any codes even when dash fault light was on. Didnt have laptop with me.
Eventually a mechanic read a history code & I tracked down the issue.
Do obdlink mx+ read all trouble codes??
Would that be the best option when outnabout?? Or another system?
Appreciate any tips.

cheers

I use an Obdlink Bluetooth & Ultraguage
I have had error codes that only the genuine Ford dongle finds.
You can buy one, but the cost is high
Stewart uses one, ask him about it
I think it is called IDS, but I could be wrong

Thanks, that explains it not showing up all the time.
Makes you wonder how good your local non-ford mechanic can be at figuring out problems.

Hmmm, wonder what your take on it is Stewart?

Forscan with the correct adaptors will show all DTCs that a factory tool will as it uses Ford IDS database.

If Forscan Lite does not show the errors on the phone there is no reason they shouldn't show on a laptop based install.
