Everest Intelligent 4wd Gauge

I had this nutted out early last year but wrote my lines down wrong. Thanks to DreaderX for telling me it the codes I gave him didn't work.

I went back through it this arvo to fix my notes and the following will work on all Rangers and Everests. I expect output from an Everest and nothing from a Ranger.

There are 2 parts to this mod;

720-07-01 xxxx-8xxx-xxxx show intelligent 4wd menu

720-07-02 xx6x-xxxx enable mode display on intelligent 4wd menu

Yes I still have not posted half the stuff I have. Call me lazy or call me busy with other things. They will all flow through in good time.

I never did take it for a drive with the gauge enabled until right now.

Using the first line on a Ranger will show traction on the rear wheels. Whether it works 100% I would not know until I hit the slippery stuff. In high 4 I saw no change with the front wheel.

Mode will not work in a Ranger as it is missing the module so no need for the second line in a Ranger.

Following is a video from my Ranger

This works really well on the Everest 4x4 variant. The only change needed was the first line and after that it already showed the Intelligent 4WD menu on the cluster as well as the mode selection.

Awesome work as always, Stewart!

Cheers!

DreaderX : What year is your Everest?

On my '15 Everest Trend, 720-07-01 original value was 0, and wont let me write the changes to make it 8.
720-07-02, the 6 value is already there in place.

Needless to say, I didn't get it working. I get "writing blocks failed - Incompatible configuration"

How many blocks do you have in your IPC? Probably 7, an update to your IPC should get it working. See Ford for the update.

8 blocks for me. Had a feeling that an update would be required after doing a compare with a 2017 Trend.

Mine:
IPC - Instrument Panel Control Module
Part number: EB3T-10849-KE (latest known: EB3T-10849-KG)
Strategy : EB3T-14C026-CC
Calibration: EB3T-14C088-CC

I noticed that the 2017 was of a later version to mine above. Apart from that, i could not see any differences in the configuration apart from the mine being a zero and the other being set at 8.

This what I found a few months back. Hope this works. (1) being mine, and (2) being the 2017

Vehicle Num Module Address Data1 Data2 Data3 Same? PartNumber Strategy Calibration

1 720-07-01 IPC Instrument Panel Control Module (IPC) 8401 0000 08 No EB3T-10849-KE EB3T-14C088-CC EB3T-14C026-CC Power Distribution?
2 720-07-01 IPC Instrument Panel Control Module (IPC) 8401 8000 08 No GB3T-10849-KB GB3T-14C088-CB GB3T-14C026-CB Power Distribution?
1 720-07-02 IPC Instrument Panel Control Module (IPC) 0364 00 No EB3T-10849-KE EB3T-14C088-CC EB3T-14C026-CC ?

Yes your is pre the chime removal. If view your latest asbuilt data online it will be slight different and have additional block.

Forget about all the numbers. They will change depending on the manufacturer year and other viable. I run the latest calibration and have all options. Turn your chimes back on and then go to Ford and ask for the chimes to be disabled. They will do and update and It will then have the latest update. Go back in and make your existing changes then add the new gauge.

I have the distribution showing on a 2015 Ranger and Dreaderx enabled it on his 2015 Everest and it is fully functional.

Ah, I was wondering how I could get Ford to update it without questioning ;) Cheers.

You cannot change the picture. The menu was never intended to be displayed on a Ranger.

The Everest Firmware appears to have slight differences or I made a change I was not aware of.

All 4 wheels light up but at the end of the day it is only a picture.

No joy for me. It says incompatible configuration. Still got the old ute image though.

Hi Richard,

How many lines in your IPC as built?

I would say the IPC has an older calibration as in the early days mine also showed intelligent 4wd instead of power distribution. I would enable your chimes and then go to Ford saying you want them removed. They will update the calibration to remove the chimes which will also give you access to the new gauge.

Even with the new calibration it was only showing 2 wheels turning on a Ranger but with an Everest Calibration it showed all 4 wheels turning. Honestly you are not missing much and it's plausible the new gauge could be changed to a ute but I'm not keen on spending a few hours going back through the IPC right now.

So once the chimes have been disabled (IPC updated), can you enable the chimes again?
They don't bother me at all, but I would like the Intelligent 4WD Gauge to work as well.

If you want the chimes to be re enabled you can do it through Forscan. Ford cannot re enable.

It is now power distribution where the old one was intelligent 4wd.

Sorry, to clarify my question.... Can have the Power Distribution & chimes both functional at the same time?
Thanks.

Yes, once Ford do the update you will use Forscan to enable the gauge/chime together or separate.

Fords update will not show the gauge if it was not shown before. You have to make the changes to do that.

You can enable both, neither, one or the other. Whatever you choose to do through Forscan.

Can anyone take a pic of their full code for 720-07-01 and 720-07-02? I get the Power Distribution display to show up but I only get power to the rear wheels registering. No front wheel drive showing up on my Sync 2 2015 Everest.
Thank you

Dennis?

I had an issue with only rear wheels but then rewrote and Everest EPROM contents into the cluster. I have a weird feeling the early IPC may not support the 4 wheels showing up.

Even though Dennis has a Titanium I would write his whole saved forscan backup file to yours. Save yourself first. You won't break anything but will get warning due to not having all the functions. Check if 4 wheels turn and if not then it is in the EPROM so cluster out and rewrite.

Trying to enable Power Distribution mode on a mate's Trend (has chime removal update)

We have got the display to work, but no blue graph for front wheels, only the rear wheels light up.

I think I read someone else had this problem but I can't find it.

Any ideas Stewart?

Just tried this and no cigar.

Still only rear wheels unfortunately. :(
