Just used FORScan for the first time (wanted to enable silent mode) and noticed upon first opening, a DTC listed for the TRM modukle. I'm completely new to all this so wanted to see if I'm reading this right. Here's a screen shot:
Does the line "-Previously set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request" mean the error condition no longer exists? That's how I read it but want to be certain this isn't something I should bring to the dealers attention.
BTW, silent mode was successfully enabled.

Just clear it and see if it returns. If it returns with a trailer plugged in then I would check your trailer wiring.

I don't have a trailer to test it with and don't think I know anyone with one either but I'll ask around. I've cleared it so we'll see.
I thought these DTC errors would be the same codes Scangauge etc show up but it showed no codes.

Scangauge won't necessarily show all of the fault codes generated. I have an intermittent tyre pressure sensor malfunction which comes up regularly. I can see it with Forscan, but scangauge does not report it at all. I'm leaving it till the next service to have it looked at.
Cheers

Scangauge will only show codes stored in the PCM and is why the dongle is a good investment. Scangauge would not even be able to see the trailer module.
We all have different codes pop up at some point and 99.9% are never really a concern. Half of the time we cause them by playing with Forscan too much.

Hooked up a trailer and didn't get any errors and trailer lights worked correctly but it was only a standard 7 pin plug and my understanding of the socket on the Ranger the "trailer fog lamp" isn't one of the standard 7 pins but rather the expanded set. I'm thinking of connecting a 10w led I have to pin 11 (rear fog from what I've googled) and pin 10 (the ground on the extra 5 pins) and see if this causes the error. Does that sound like a bad idea to anyone?
I'm also curious as to errors in the BCM. I've read comments such as the BCM will only allow an error so many times before it shuts down an item. Does anyone know if this "count" is shown anywhere in FORscan?

Probably best to let Ford sort it at your next service. I have not see a trailer module give a fault so it could actually be a wire that is grounded. They will check trailer socket wiring and go from there.
I assume you or someone else has not added any accessories out the back?
Has someone hooked into wiring they should not have?
If none of the above applies then get Ford to look or if accessories have been fitted into existing wiring at the back then get the accessory fitter to sort it out.

No, nothing fitted. Hadn't even connected a trailer before. I'll mention it to them but I'd say all they'll do is check for any errors and as I've cleared it won't look into it any further.
