I looked at this a lonnng time ago but in the end had better things to do.

Anyway, after a ton of work and time, I now have functioning Traffic Sign Recognition on my MY15.

Its also adjustable to for over speed so it will start flashing the sign to the allowance you have specified.

On some European models (Fiesta I believe) the vehicle speed limiter can be set to use the last seen traffic sign - Does this functionality apply too?

Does this require the lane assist option as part of the standard build?

Unsure, I have only done 5km since getting it working.

Yes, you would need the front facing camera. Do you have one?

So Stewart, does this mean that it would work on the Wildtrak?
If so what’s involved?

Unfortunately, no. I think that package was the only option not installed in the truck. When I looked through the inventory on the dealer’s lot, only one Wildtrak had the lame assist option package, but it was the four door model.

That is brilliant Stewart.

That would be the best of all mods.

How easy is it to replace firmware?

Could it be detected by a dealer?

Hi Ross, I will send a PM.

It is a visual mod as in you can see the cluster. No one would really think much of it so as usual it up to the end user if they want to take any risk, bit like enabling climate but more done behind the scenes.

Mine was done by Stewart tonight and it is brilliant. (Sunday night)

Due to on going roadworks within 6 klms I passed a 40, 60, 80 & 90kph signs and all were detected instantly and the warning kept flashing until the speed was reduced.

I have both of mine mine set @ +4 kph.

That means if it sees a 60 sign it will allow me to go over 4ks until it starts flashing.

Same thing with all speeds, sees an 80 sign and I can do 84 before it flashes.

I have nothing but praise for Stewart and his work.

He did mine over the internet, took some time but we'll worth the end result.

The mod was much more than I would attempt, involving many files and very easy to screw up a module.

I have no problem at all paying for this mod, it is cheap considering the work that has gone into it.

Does it enable the Intelligent speed limiter that comes on European Fiesta and Focus? I appreciate someone above asked about cruise control but the speed limiter is a different function.

Also, how confident are you that the functionality wont be lost if the vehicle has a software update at Ford during a routine service (or downloads one itself via wifi at home?)

Not a software update, a specific firmware update & I doubt Ford would ever have/need to update.

It doesn't enable the speed limiter that I can see, but I am still playing.

Cluster etc does not support intelligent speed limiter for it to be used in the first place, so no.

1. Ford generally never flash anything unless asked to do so and it is usually the PCM.
2. The modules in question had no updates in the 3 year period of a PX2 and the hardware has now changed, so there will not be an update.
3. I do not believe Sync3 is flashing any firmware on any other module in the vehicle. Being safety related items I doubt they would be in a rush to even implement making on the fly changes to a safety related module.

Basically I'm confident it will never be touched unless a dealer at some point wants to be an arse but seriously they have better ways to waste their time than flashing modules for fun.

At the end of the day I'm liking it. The warning are not intrusive and is a visual flashing of the speed sign depending on the over speed tolerance you set.

Yes it flashed all the way home tonight but that is the tune I'm currently using that just keeps asking for more right foot.

Although the change is safe, it's factory and works 100%, I'm still deciding on how and which way to progress. It gets release to the public and 25 different people will try and make a quid off it, I release it and people start bricking things due to lack of knowledge. I do it remotely and again it goes public.

As much as I know everyone I do not know everyone so please don't take offence.

I have few thoughts and need to speak with a few people first.
