Hey,
There is a couple of wrecked pii wildtraks coming up that are parting out, am i able to get just the front laser in the bumper and plug it in to my XLT, then is it possible to change a as built on forscan to add adaptive cruise in? will it work?
i love the XLT but want adaptive cruise.
cheers

You need to get the windshield and the camera.
Windshield has a different cut out for the camera.

Have you confirmed this Janemar?
The camera not used for adaptive cruise (Well not until the next vehicle update). The front radar sensor is though so it may plausible to enable the just the adaptive cruise and not the lane change feature ( less camera ). If you went the full route with both you would also require the right hand steering wheel stalk.
Basically if you have the loom and can get the parts cheap enough then yes we could try. It will need changes in many modules, IPC, SCCM, ABS etc. Also it may or may not work without the required changes done in the PCM, I can do those but you're not really local.

Any updates on this?
Id be keen to get a new XLS but i cant be without the radar cruise from my XLT,
I dont use Lane keeping, so happy to just retrofit the radar side.
Is the PCM programmed a different way. Like not in forscan?

Although anything can be done, the amount of parts and reprogramming would not make it feasible.
You would also need an XLT cluster which I didn't put in the first post.
A XLT ABS module.
Looms would need to be made or found from a wreckers with the appropriate connectors.
etc. etc.
You would need to be 100% electronically and computer minded with exceptional mechanical skills, have the required tools and programming devices and software including Fords IDS.

Damn haha.
End up costing more than just getting an XLT.
I was trying to avoid XLT for the sake of getting an aftermarket headunit, but id lose some of the ac controls.
Any idea how the ac controls are run? If theyre run over the canbus and can be sniffed, i can probably do an android headunit and write an app to talk to the canbus. Or my other option is to try to retro fit an xls/XL ac controls to the XLT so all the ac controls are on the dash instead of the APIM.
