SSM 46420 - 2011-2017 Ranger and 2015-2017 Everest Vehicles – Application of Underbody Protection and Shock Absorber Leak Identification
Dealers are advised that the application of underbody protection/stone chip protection on non-body components is not recommended by Ford. Specifically, shock absorbers, rubber bushes, drive belts, driveline rotational components and hoses as these can be adversely affected by the application of third party anti-corrosion treatments and similar products. Additionally, technicians are reminded to only replace shock absorbers where there is clear evidence of an active leak and not a weep. SSM: 46420
