Ultragauge and Scangauge still need to be tested so some feedback would be welcome as I do not have time to compare them all. Torque and OBDlink will be correct as it is faster to test.

Trans Actual Output Shaft Speed
Trans Actual Turbine Shaft Speed
Trans Measured Slip Across Torque Convertor

All useful in various ways for things that I'm doing.

You will find the slip across the torque convertor to be the most useful and was what most were looking for.

0 RPM Trans Measured Slip Across Torque Convertor would mean that it is fully locked. Easiest way to understand this is to put the engine revs next to it and move the gear lever from park to drive without moving, it will all make sense then.

As I already knew the torque convertor runs about 20rpm slip in 6th at say "fully locked". This will be to help with driveline vibrations and the TC will dampen them. It only equates to approx 1% RPM loss at 100kph anyway.

Will attached an excel log, zipped, feel free to have a look.

Main things you would be looking at is TCM Slip vs gear and speed which is what people wanted to know.

"....torque convertor runs about 20% slip in 6th...."

Stewart,
I think you mean 20rpm.
The programmed amount of slip [in my PX3-6R80] is pretty small, overall. Do you know if this was more of an issue in earlier PX's?

thanks,

Thanks for reading it properly. Fixed.

Calibrations are all identical for PX2 and PX3. 100% identical with a filename change is all. There were 2 very early PX2 and Everest cals but I rarely see them now. As for PX1 cal it cannot be written directly but I can check what you say above out as it would be an interesting comparison.

I will load some PX cals and send you some to take a look at.

Thanks, happy to review.
I've looked at a few high HP 6R80 calibrations previously, and while there's obviously stuff that can be done to quicken changes, alter change points etc, once you get into 3rd gear, there's really not much TC slip to deal with with stock engine power. Your data log above shows the same.
I know there are people who have a different story (maybe I will one day, too?) but I think the transmission tuning is pretty good for a vanilla factory config. The are plenty of safeguards built-in to protect the tranny so if people are seeing lots of TC slip when monitoring PIDs, then it would be worthwhile to get things checked.

I tried these today but no response from Trans Actual Output Shaft Speed.
I used an OBDlink

Tested on OBDlink, no problems.

It will say succeeded:0

0 because you are not moving which mean OSS in not turning.

On roof doing work today Ross, hence phone no answer.

Gday Guys
New to the forum
I have been using Torque Pro app on my Android for years, I am using ELM327 transmitter. I am trying to upload the transmission temp PID into the app, but it is coming up with no data. Will these units read trans modules.
Is there somewhere I can access the Transmission PIDs?
Cheers

Just did and no they don't work. Or at least I tried:

Trans Measured Slip Across Torque Convertor - A bunch of weird values including the RPM displayed higher than actual engine RPM

Trans Actual Output Shaft Speed - Err

I didn't try the rest

Will add them at some point. Check back now and then, I have other things to sort before I start adding 99% of vehicle PIDs.
