TPMS display

When the tyre pressures are displayed on a display that shows the actual pressures, does the factory system only work in the pressure range on the tyre placard or will they still work at a higher pressure as I normally run 47/48psi in the rear tyres when towing.
I do not have the sensors yet as I am checking it all out before purchasing the sensors and training tool.

My ranger is a Xls which does not have the tyre monitor system as standard, when I enable it in forscan I get a tpms malfunction warning on the dash,
which indicates that the Xls is capable of reading the factory sensors if they are fitted and enabled.

Tony.

It will show what the current pressure is, placard values do not affect this.

Yes I believe it will work on an XLS. You have the same modules so there is no reason why it shouldn't, I have offered to do it numerous times as a test but no one wanted it done.

Good luck.

I have a '17 Wildtrak PX2 fitted with a TPMS. Can this system show me the pressure in real time on the screen? Or is there a way for me to see the pressure of each wheel?

You can see real time tyre pressures but you'll need one of the following,
Ultra Guage
Scan Gauge
Torque Pro App ( android )
OBDLink App ( IOS & android )
Forscan lite App ( IOS & android )
There may be others that I have missed.

Thanks for the info. But there is no way of seeing it on the vehicle's own screen?

Unfortunately not, Ford in their wisdom didn't code that into the grand scheme of things on the Ranger.
So you'll need a OBDlink MX (recommended) and one of the above mentioned.

I couldn’t find the PID for TPMS anywhere on the OBDLink iOS app. I’m I missing something? I have the OBDLink MX Wifi. Thanks in advance.

Hi TANK,

You'll need to construct some user defined PIDS using the following codes mate... I'm not familiar with the iOS version, but these certainly work with android.

Tyre Pressures

LHF
Header: 726
Mode: 22
PID: 2813
Equation: (((256*A)+B)/3+22/3)*0.145

RHF
Header: 726
Mode: 22
PID: 2814
Equation: (((256*A)+B)/3+22/3)*0.145

LHR
Header: 726
Mode: 22
PID: 2816
Equation: (((256*A)+B)/3+22/3)*0.145

RHR
Header: 726
Mode: 22
PID: 2815
Equation: (((256*A)+B)/3+22/3)*0.145

Have a look here if you want some info on how to program in your own PIDS viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1459&p=4462&hilit=OBDLINK#p4462

Everything is here viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1461 and will work in iOS or Android.

Thanks for the instructions. I have created the PID but the reading on the App screen shows 1.5 while on the vehicle screen shows 37psi. How do I make it show psi values instead? Thanks

In the ap go to Settings/Units and go to the bottom of the page.

At Other have you selected Metric.

Select English for PSI readings.

I have Metric selected but in Units you can go to Pressure and manually select kpa, inhg or psi.

I'm a bit confused reading this.

Stewarts reply to OP saying that it will show current pressures, but then response to FordmanSA was no.

I'm looking at purchasing a set of wheels which come with TPMS, will I beable to enable the system on my PX3 XLS?
Will it show the current pressures on the screen?

Earlier models didn't show the actual pressures on one of the dash screens. I think newer models do. You can't get an older model show on dash, but u can use another device to read the info fromvthe OBD port and display it (providing it has the wheel sensors)

Alan.

Hi Alan,
That was my exact impression, but the OP has a PX2 (assuming profile is correct) and FordmanSA also has a PX2

I have a Scangauge, if you want to go this way that shows all the independent tyre pressures!
