SSM 47023 - 2015-2017 Ranger Vehicles Equipped with a 2.2L or 3.2L Engine and a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Part Number Starting with AB39-12A650 – New Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Drive to Clean Indication Scheme

Please be advised of a new DPF Drive to Clean Indication Scheme for certain 2015-2017 Ranger vehicles. This new feature will only apply to vehicles with PCM part numbers starting with AB39-12A650 when updated using the latest service calibration IDS release 108.03 or higher. When the DPF becomes overloaded, the DPF warning lamp will be illuminated in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). If the lamp is illuminated the vehicle owner must follow the drive to clean cycle which can be found in the Owner’s Manual under Starting and Stopping the Engine, DPF. When the regeneration starts, the DPF warning lamp will remain illuminated on the IPC, the lamp will be extinguished when the regeneration is complete. If the DPFlamp illuminates on the next trip, repeat the drive to clean cycle. Please ensure the owners of the applicable vehicle range are made aware of this new feature. SSM: 47023
