Hi guys
Is there a way to extend the head unit time out when you press the power button on the fascia. Goes off after an hr ish I think. Cheers

Just had my ranger serviced last week and 'upgraded software' and now my head unit enters battery saver mode after about 5min. Will have to plug into forscan and see what the new default is.

I think you have low SOC.

12.55v

Seems to be getting worse only turning on the head unit when the car is on and info box on the cluster telling me to turn off to save power.

No error codes showing.

You won't get any errors, either battery is in bad shape or it just needs a really good charge from an external charger.

I find on trips my SOC gets up nice and high but week to week I only do 40km a day and my SOC starts getting quiet low after about 3 weeks. This would also have an impact on how long the radio or other items will stay on for.

Slightly off topic, but related (perhaps) to battery level... I've noticed lately that the auto stop-start doesn't ever seem to come on any more. My SOC sits at around 85% but I am wondering if this is still too low for the stop-start to operate?

Could be a heap of things Gerry, maybe monitor the stop start PIDs in the PCM there are a ton of them in Forscan as it relies on a lot of other factors also.

Thanks I'll put it on charge overnight tonight and see how it goes. Failing that I've got it booked into Ford in Friday. I'll let you know how I go with the charge.

Forscan or program the codes into a Scangauge, Ultragauge etc.

So I gave it a charge over night and it looks like the problem has gone. Strange since it had 12.55v on it when the issue was occurring. Does this mean my battery is buggered?

Interestingly, after a run to the city and back, my auto stop-start is working again. Still on 86% SOC, but suspect it was battery related also.
